  5. funny as .... ,but call niave but what was the dog in the bath meant to mean,or the head on the pub wall with a sword in its mouth. nice beef curatins made me choke
  6. that description has put me off slightly. i'm sure that's how they are meant to be made, but i doubt mr brains faggots are made that way now.still nice though:)

  10. we should start a self help group. cambelt and water pump done as skoda would replace the rubbish water pump. 2x arb links 2x front wheel bearing 1x steering arm which conicidently led to 1 week later 1x steering rack i have a milltek sat waiting to be fitted ,but i can't afford to yet, just incase i need to sell it to buy something else thats broken. mind you my wife says my SEAT's were as bad.just easier to DIY :( edit:forgot 1x central control unit for conwhatsit i daren't add it up :( edit again 4x coilpacks 1x coolant temp sender.the list goes on,not to mention previous owners warranty work.
  11. i bought one for 30 quid from a scrappy off a mk2 golf.80 quid to have it fitted and programmed by skoda, but anyone with vag com should be able to recode your keys for you. part number is there too.though you may have a different one because of the alarm on the ltd edition http://www.briskoda.net/forums/octavia/central-control-module-central-conveniece/83243/
  12. just bought an ORANGE 5,i loves it
  13. tesco own brand ,been using it for years, good stuff and about 20p
  14. pick one up by the tail.it will detach itself from it,and then you are left holding a twitching tail.Quite unnerving. not a snake but a legless lizard. not seen one for years, shame really, beautiful creatures.
  15. sorry,no i have had the car two years, but it was out of the dealerships 2 days from having some other work done. sorry to confuse you. and the late reply.i hate being on call.but at least i have somewhere to park my van while the car is away ebing fixed again.
  16. its seems that the rack is pishing fluid into the gaiter on the steering arm. where the rack meets the arm its tubular the rack is letting the fluid out through this tubular part. car is sat in the garage now awaiting a price on a new part/rack. any idea on price/labour time on replacing this part of the rack?
  17. not even 24 hours out of the dealership and my vrs has sprung a leak from the power steering mechanism. fluid in the top, leaking out over the near side driveshaft/wishbone area. i haven't had chance for a daylight look as i have only just finished my day job. any points to note in this area? or am i going to be "lucky" enough to have a loose union/pipe? if i keep enough fluid in, will i be ok using the car as i have to do a 45 mile each way trip tomorrow to pick up my new bike? how much fluid does the vrs hold when the system is working properly?as i want to know how quickly its loosing it,it doesn't seem to take that much fluid to get it working again, and it will last ok so long as you don't do too much slow town driving. really getting hacked off with skoda ownership now.no way will i be tempted back i'm afraid, such a nice car,far too many problems with my particular one:(
  18. nice. what camera you using?
  19. well, all went reasonably well, the convenience unit that i bought from a breakers the other day,was fitted and reprogrammed by the tech and now all is as it was. the drivers window still does a merry dance every now and then as its always done, and the passenger side lock pops up from the drivers remote button, again, which it has always done. if i had known it needed reprogramming i would have fitted it myself, and got a mte with vag com to have a go,or at lest asked the dealer to do it. as it was i thought it was plug and play. so all in all,30 quid for the unit,88 quid for the fitting and reprog(they are going to do my second remote free). thansk for the input everyone, i do go on a bit.
  20. dealer taking a look at it today. no remote C/L key locking won't lock boot/passnger side pops back up from inside/or outsid of the car. no leccy windows. fitting different controller has got windows back ,but no locking. no buzzing noise when you open drivers door(only noticed yesterday) .sounds bloody expensive to me :( let us pray.
  21. parted with 30 quid for one this afternoon....... i now have electric windows again, but still no remote central locking, and the passenger side lock pops back up again from the door lock remote. i have checked everything i can think of/you've suggested,i have actually started drinking now:O . going to book it in at the dealers at this rate:(
  22. my mates lab turned on his own daughter once, bit right through her top lip,for no apparent reason. his young daughter says she didn't do anything to provoke it,the dog was destroyed straight away.no ifs or buts.
