  1. Cheers for that but my question was more what are the limits of the standard turbo and clutch so as to know if there are any remaps out there that aren't going to cause issues with them etc...... Apologies if I worded it wrongly but i posted during my break during my fourth of five 12 hour night shifts so the old brain wasn't working too well. The only thing i can see in the things you posted is one of the topics mentions that the APR remap is more than likely too much for the MQ200 gearbox/clutch fitted to the colour edition. And looking at what you have put for Celtic Tuning that's way over what the MQ200 is rated for too so i guess that rules a remap out when keeping everything else standard.
  2. I've just looked at the 2019 Fabia UK brochure and i can't see any mention of HHC for any spec level S, SE, SEL, Colour Edition or MC. Previously I've only ever seen it as a dealer option for around £100-200. https://autocatalogarchive.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Skoda-Fabia-2019-UK.pdf
  3. It's not leased or rented though it's a PCP..... So what we have paid isn't really relevant in that respect as you are just paying the new price over however long a term you signed up to. You have the price as new.... You pay a deposit then pay whatever per month for four years then if you want to keep it you pay the final balloon payment. From our past experience usually the car reaches neutral equity at around 3 years in and we've then handed them back and started a new PCP on a new vehicle but due to the current used car market the car is nowhere near that point. To put it simply once you pay the final payment you have paid the brand new price but over 4 years.... The point here is that the car is still worth £11-12,000 so if you so desired you could sell it for that and instantly more than double the final payment you just payed.....As we're keeping it though it means in our instance that the car has only lost around £5,000 or so from brand new over four years. The other thing in this situation at present is that if you no longer needed the vehicle and would have normally just handed it back you could buy it and then put it straight on the market and in our case earn an instant £6,000 or so.
  4. The Mrs' 2019 Colour Edition didn't have HHC enabled when she bought it new.... Due to issues with the delivery I asked if the dealer could enable it as way of an apology to which they later came back saying their service guys had looked into it but it couldn't be enabled on our car. A couple of days later I just enabled it myself using Carista in a couple of minutes and living in Sheffield you can rest assured it's gotten used every day since.
  5. Anyone else had, or got their, final PCP payment coming up and finding they look to have a bit of a bargain with the used prices being so high? The Mrs' PCP deal comes to an end next month for her 2019 Fabia Colour Edition and having looked at what they are going for (Same age, spec and mileage look to be around the £11000-12000 mark) her final payment to keep the car is less than half of that. No wonder Skoda/VW Finance have been pestering her like crazy this last 6-12 months to trade it in. 😄
  6. The wife has decided to keep her 2019 Colour Edition after the PCP deal comes to an end next month..... Her final payment of £5300 for a car that is currently looking like it's worth around £11000-12000 means it's a no brainer to keep it........ Anyway one of the things she's thinking about doing once it's hers is a remap so I said I'd do a bit of asking on here to find out if there are any reliable maps out there that are still within the limits of the standard turbo and clutch. She's not too bothered about having to upgrade them both and just fancies making the car a little more punchy so if it means having to replace them also then she says she'll leave it as is. I've tried to have a search but it's a night shift (I'm on my break) and the tiredness isn't helping me find much. Any advise would be much appreciated.
  7. I just wanted to add some of my own input with this issue....... My wife's 2019 colour edition went in just before the warranty expired last year as I had found that when we phoned each other I also had 1-way speech with the person in the car able to hear the other person but the other person not being able to hear the person in the car (This would happen with both incoming and outgoing calls) We would very, very rarely call anyone except each other whilst we were driving so assumed it was happening all the time and would be the HU or something in the car at fault. Anyway I took it in and one of the service guys came out to the car with me so I could show him what happens. I called the wife and we got 1-way speech. I then called her again using the BT connection and it worked fine so they suspected the HU may need an update. They carried out the update and made test calls and called me to say it was all OK and to collect the car. I collected the car (They had carried out an update to the HU) and just as I was about to leave I decided to phone the wife's mobile and to my surprise it was still the same and she couldn't hear me. I went back in to the dealership and they sent out the same service guy plus another guy as they were the one's who had tested it OK earlier. They made test calls to their own phones (One iPhone and one Android) OK so I again tried to call my wife's phone but it again was 1-way speech. I left it at that for the time being as at that time the wife was planning on trading the car in this year and I was also planning on replacing my phone too thinking it might just be my phone..... Now the things I have found with this issue and which appear to have a big bearing on the issue are as follows..........After making numerous test calls to various other people It only occurs when either myself or my wife call each other (It doesn't matter which person is the one using CarPlay in the car and which is the person away from the car) BUT we both have iPhones (iPhone 13 & iPhone 12 Pro that has now been replaced with an iPhone 14 Pro) AND we are both on the Three UK network. If we call anyone else we know, whether they have an iPhone or not, the calls are all OK but as far as we are aware they are all on other networks other than Three UK. So weirdly in our situation it only occurs when our two iPhones which are both on the Three UK network try and call each other with the phone in the car using CarPlay. Not sure if this is the case with yourself? Or if in your situation you are calling people on other networks..... or are on another network yourself?
  8. As i said though it's not a dealer. It's my usual VAG specialist who i've not had reason to question previously but this was something i've not had before so wasn't sure.
  9. Hi all, Couldn't find anything relating to this so thought I'd ask..... Our 2019 Colour Edition had it's first MOT and got an advisory for brake pads wearing low all round. The car has currently done 26,000 miles.... Anyway I asked for a quote and he gave me a price for pads AND discs all round when I quickly asked about whether it needed discs too he said they recommend replacing them with pads. It's not something I've done on such a low mileage car previously and have only had discs and pads done together on a vehicle I've owned when they have been much higher mileage and the discs had done more miles so my question is whether this sounds right or if I should really be looking at just the pads this time around? This is from my usual VAG specialist who I've never had reason to question before but this seemed strange to me on a car with this many miles? I've attached a couple of pics of the front and rear discs in case they provide any extra benefit in responses.
  10. Do these better LED bulbs require coding or flag up any bulb warnings? or do they just work OK when installed?
  11. As a bit of a side note...... Is it a case of removing the battery then to replace the headlight bulbs on that side? Fancy putting something brighter in our 2019 Colour Edition (Reflector for all four bulbs) as i do a lot of motorway driving at night but not too fussed if you have to remove the battery etc.....
  12. Not sure what HU is fitted in the Mrs’ 2019 Colour Edition but this is a photo of it and its current status. Is this unit up to date or is there an update available? And if so how is the update done? It was supposedly updated by the dealer last year as part of a warranty claim but I didn’t check the status before it went in so can’t say if it’s been updated or not.
  13. That's good to hear........ I'll start having a look around at prices knowing i don't have to either look for places that can code it as well or have to sort the coding out via here etc.......
  14. I confirmed with dealership and Skoda UK at the time that mine was every 5 years... (car built in October 2010). Apparently they changed the time from 4 to 5 years for cars built some point just before mine was built from what both the dealership and Skoda UK told me.
  15. Hi all, Quick one...… My battery is on it's way out after being in the car for coming up to six years. I've seen a few posts and things online regarding having the battery coded to the car once it's fitted. My question is this though..... Is this the case on all the Superbs or only those with Start/Stop? I only ask as mine does not have start/stop (2010 60 plate CR140 DSG) and whenever I see mention of coding the new battery it's always in relation to Superbs with start/stop. So is it a case of not required at all on a car without start/stop or not required on a car without start/stop if the replacement battery is the same spec/capacity? Cheers
  16. Well having upgraded my D90 for a D7500 towards the end of last year i never actually got around to going out and giving it a whirl before lockdown. I finally managed to get out on Saturday to watch a steam special so gave the new camera a go. Sod's law literally just a minute or so before she arrived it started to lash it down, as you can see from the pics. Anyway..... Royal Scot hauling The Yorkshire Rose tour to York in the rain at Grindleford, Derbyshire.
  17. That's what i was asking about as the only thing i was aware of on the iPhone was the Low Power mode that can kick in at 20% battery..... Obviously what Android phones do doesn't matter as the issue is an iPhone only issue.
  18. just out of interest what do you mean by power saving features? Do you mean the Low Power Mode that kicks in when the battery is less than 20% charged?
  19. Yep that's what i've said before.... It can't be a general Apple issue or software issue with the unit otherwise it would be affecting all users. As it is it isn't affecting all users so to me must be something particular to those vehicles. A manufacturing change of something like the USB socket or the shielding of the cabling between the USB socket and the HU itself could well be to blame as various people like yourself and myself have proved it's not linked to a particular phone model, iOS variant or cable type / manufacturer. As to you thinking that because Skoda have admitted there's a fault and that it's Apple's fault means that they must have put some amount of focus into resolving the issue...... It doesn't make me think that i'm afraid. It just tells me they have just passed the buck and are finger pointing at someone else otherwise they would have been able to supply further information as to exactly what the problem was and why it was an Apple issue. 😉 I see the same diversionary finger pointing everyday in my line of work.
  20. The thing with forums though is you only see the posts about the things that don’t work and not the things that do. If you think of the hundreds of thousands of these units out there and how many complaints of stuttering you’ve got on here it’ll be a minority. But also which unit do you have and are you talking about as the unit in your other half’s Polo could be a totally different model especially as it’s a couple of years old isn’t it??? Ours is a MY19 Colour Edition with the Radio Swing Plus. (3 buttons either side of the screen with SD card slot located centrally at the bottom). This is the unit fitted in the majority of cars in the range along with the other VAG marques as it’s the standard unit. If you have the head unit with 4 buttons either side you have the Amunsden upgrade option which isn’t as common a unit AFAIK. This is a picture of our HU in our car and is the model that has worked perfectly with an iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone SE and iPhone SE (2nd gen) with a 30cm Anker lightning cable for the last 12 months since the car has been on the road.
  21. I don’t think you can use the VW Polo has had zero issues thing though. We’ve had zero issues with the unit in our Fabia since day one also. 😉👍🏻 If you think how many of these units are installed at present and how many people are having issues it’s likely a minority otherwise it’d have been sorted by now.
  22. Got in the car this morning and it started fine but just as i was about to drive away I noticed the engine management light had stayed on. Tried turning the car off a couple of times and restarting it but the light stayed on each time. So this evening I called round at a friend and we had a scan for codes and it came back with the following codes.... Confirmed - P2454 DPF Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Low Pending - P2453 DPF Pressure Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance & 12002 DPF Pressure Sensor We didn't clear the codes as far as we were aware but when I started the car afterwards the EML light no longer came on and hasn't been on since. Am I right in thinking it's either an intermittent fault that has cleared itself at present or that we have inadvertently cleared the codes and the fault was just a blip and the EML light had stayed on as a precaution till the codes have been cleared. Also did a search for those particular codes and people always seem to say the glow plugs light flashes and the DPF light comes on with these fault codes whereas I just had the EML lit and nothing else.
