  1. I've just bought a January '22 registered vRS which doesn't have Park Assist. Just front/rear parking sensors with Manoeuvre Assist? (I'd not even noticed till after i put the deposit down and had looked at the online images again). Having had Park Assist in my Superb II for the last ten years i'm not too fussed about the loss of it in this new car as i only used it maybe once or twice a year at most.
  2. I checked it whilst I was there. It's on 1941 but sat-nav maps are from 2022 so have asked for them to be updated to latest version....November 2023 I believe. It'll also be having it's Approved Used multi-point checks done before i collect too so anything else should be picked up then.
  3. Yesterday I finally bought the replacement for my Elegance. I've had it since 2014 and other than a failed EGR unit just after I bought it that was replaced under the approved used warranty and a broken rear spring a few years ago it's not given me any aggro at all and has been a great car to own. I travelled down to the South Coast yesterday and put the deposit down on an Approved Used January 2022 petrol Octavia vRS hatch in Race Blue which I'll be going down to collect in a couple of weeks. So I'll be giving the Superb a final clean and tidy out ready to sell it on in the coming weeks. The old...... And the new.....
  4. Morning all, After a couple of months of looking and narrowing down various makes and models to replace my Superb II Elegance I finally joined the Mk4 Octy club yesterday when I travelled down to Eastbourne from Sheffield (I work for the railway so it was a free day out) and bought an Approved Used January 2022 Race Blue petrol vRS. The car was owned local to that area, It's in lovely condition has done 13k miles and has the Winter Pack+ and tri-zone climate options. We're away on holiday next week so will be travelling down again in a couple of weeks to drive it back home. Looking forward to enjoying the new car and using this section of the forum for the first time.
  5. Is there anywhere within the rear light housings that a small bag of silica gel could be placed without it being able to move around or be seen from outside? Just wondering if this would draw the moisture into it rather than it condensing on the inside surfaces?
  6. MY23 (Manufacture Year 2023) so vehicles that are produced from the summer of 2022 and were usually delivered to customers from the autumn of 2022.
  7. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but does the Winter Pack also give heated rear seats or was that a separate option? Also glad I found this thread as I was wanting to know if the heated screen had visible thin wiggly elements like they used to have as doing lots of night driving the streaking to lights coming the other way really, really bugs me and has always put me off having a heated screen in any of my previous cars.
  8. Yep something i'd thought of myself. I'll be asking for someone to message me a photo of the info screen to confirm if the dealership is a distance away.
  9. That's what i was thinking regarding software.... As i'm only looking at Skoda Approved Used if the car's software isn't up to date i'll be wanting it updated to the latest release (1941 or possibly 1969 by the time of the sale) so that won't be an issue. It does appear that the only change to spec is the virtual cockpit though touch wood.
  10. The budget i have is giving me cars up to 71 plates with the odd 22 plate. I'm well aware of the Infotainment software issues as i was looking at Formentors and Golfs as well as the vRS untill narrowing it down to the vRS. Any car I buy i'll be wanting the software to be updated before collection as part of the deal if it isn't already up to date, (I'm only looking at Skoda Approved Used rather than the general second hand market), so there shouldn't be any issues there as it will be on the same software as a car a few months old anyway. I was more interested in hardware changes like the virtual cockpit etc.... (And like the Powered tailgate on the Formentor that i mentioned).
  11. ****Edit**** sorry misread it and thought you’d said Europe not EU hence why mine is still working. 🤦🏼‍♂️
  12. Well it would seem that the spec looks to have pretty much stayed the same throughout then.... The only change I've come across myself is the change to the virtual cockpit screen which was changed on the MY23 cars?
  13. Glad you got it sorted in the end. They are notoriously temperamental with the discs you use and the speed they are written at. You have to use good quality discs and make sure you write to them at the slowest speed possible to give the best chance of success.
  14. Cheers again that's handy to know. I must admit i have started a new thread in this section yesterday asking if there have been any changes to the vRS spec over the last 3 years or so to see if anything has gone from being standard to option or vice versa or if things have been removed altogether or added etc..... but as yet it's not had any replies. (When i was looking at the Cupra Formentor recently the big one i remember with the spec i was looking at was the powered tailgate was standard for the first 6-12 months before being made an option after that).
  15. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions it's much appreciated. It's been 10 years since i got my Superb so a long time since i was in this situation of car hunting and constantly thinking of new questions to answer. When you say a new virtual cockpit unit was introduced last year does that mean the units previously were unable to display the sat-nav map between the dials? I only ask as i was sure whilst looking at used cars online i'd seen cars older than 2023 with the sat-nav display on the cockpit screen between the dials..... Or am i getting the wrong end of the stick.
  16. Excuse my ignorance but have there been many hardware updates to the units installed over the last 3 years? I'm looking to purchase a used vRS and there is an April 2021 registered car at a Skoda dealership local to me. Would a unit of this age be slower or more prone to issues than one fitted in a later car? Can older units still run the same latest software versions as a unit in a car say only a year old etc..... Also when i'm physically looking at a car how do I find what the installed software version is?
  17. I’m not 100% but I think you are better with CD-R rather than CD-RW as the units can be a bit picky on what media they like. And make sure you have the correct firmware version for your unit to burn to the CD-R as different age units will run different versions of FW.
  18. I’m looking at getting an approved used vRS and wondered if there had been any changes in spec level since 2021? Have there been any things that used to be standard on earlier models that were changed to options on later cars? And vice verse….. Anything that became standard on later cars? Just wanting to know if it could sway my decision on what age of car to look at.
  19. I know but it’s 2 years as standard on the other marques whether you take finance or not. 😉👍🏼 Not bothered about getting finance when I can get a personal loan at half the amount of interest with my bank.
  20. As well as software not being covered there’s also (In my opinion) the more important thing of it still only being a 1 year warranty when Seat, Cupra and VW have all now gone to two years approved used warranty and roadside.
  21. I meant if the SOS unit required replacing would it not be covered under the approved used warranty not just can it be replaced for no reason. 😉
  22. Would the SOS module not be replaced under the Approved Used Warranty?
  23. I may be being slightly conservative on those figures…. Probably more like high 50s/touching 60 and high 40s in reality. The car was part of the dieselgate issue but has never had the fix applied. What you have to bear in mind though is the difference in altitude/height between the two locations. (Sea level at work and 400ft+ above sea level where I live on the edge of the Woodhead Moors) so my real world figures will never be anything like published figures.
  24. As mentioned earlier I get mid 50s going to work and mid to high 40s coming home. The difference is nothing to do with speeds I’m travelling at (usually 60-70mph but currently around a third of it is at 50mph a to roadworks) but is to do with the fact my workplace is at sea level and my home is over 400ft above sea level so the car is working harder in general when travelling home.
  25. I've answered my own question....... https://www.skoda-auto.com/world/range-driving-modes
