  1. Potentially. On mine, the nut at the top of the shocker had worked loose, but you need to remove the top mount from the body to access it. It's only 2 bolts however.
  2. Officially, it's 4 years. Can't remember the exact mileage... I change mine every 5 years as it only does around 2k a year.
  3. Top mounts on the rear shockers
  4. Yep, I'm aware of that mate. It's honestly not that bad, just a couple of small areas that I may need to sand down. I've been looking at the textured carbon effect wraps which should hide any imperfections in theory.....
  5. Hi all, Not sure if this is the correct section but does anyone know of any decent car wrap companies in the North West? I need the roof of my mk1 Octavia VRS wrapping as the lacquer is just starting to show signs of failure and I'd rather not have it painted if possible. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know. Ideally Manchester area but I'm willing to travel for a decent job. There's a couple of companies local to me but I'd rather go off personal recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Nice! Are stance + coils that bad? I was looking at getting some for my mk1 but I've heard a few times that they are just rebranded Joms' in a different colour
  7. Probably replaced 2 / 3 of those in each door over the years, luckily they are still readily available and quite cheap. I find the cable generally rusts and ends up snapping.
  8. Theres a sensor at the bottom of the sump. Have a look at that. The wiring plug had corroded on mine, had to replace the sensor and connector.
  9. If possible could you get me a couple of quick measurements? Centre of the wheel to wheelarch lip front and rear. Just trying to work out if they will lower or raise my car compared with the current springs fitted. Many thanks in advance.
  10. Glad you took those Ronals off mate. Didn't want to say anything but I think they completely ruined the look of the car. Multispoke wheels always seem to suit the octavia best.
  11. ^^ guessing that's on air? Looks good. Mk1 Octy's are getting old now and if you get one that's not been maintained too well than they can be a really headache especially as 2nd hand parts are getting quite rare.
  12. Don't worry about the bungs in the floor they all have them. Remember water travels down not up. I'd start with taking the door panel of and making sure that the weather membrane is present and in tact. Also the door seals can be problematic
  13. It's not too far from me this car Dean. I'm tempted to buy it just for the interior although I think it's a bit overpriced so I'd struggle to sell it on. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it drops to around a grand.
  14. I think you can get away with 225's on the spider alloys. It's the offset on the Audi wheels that make them rub. Been there myself with TT alloys and 225 tyres, my rear arch liners are toast.
  15. What are the tyre sizes on your spider alloys? Look very low profile.
  16. Breather for the SAI pump.
  17. Sounds good. Bilstein B4's are £189 delivered but if you can get the koni kit its probably the better option. Won't you get stung with import tax if you buy from Germany?
  18. Bilstein B4's + H&R springs then. Should come in just under the £400 mark. I think skinnyman has this set up so should be able to give you a review but double check with him.
  19. Yep I think eibach used to do springs for the Octavia but they aren't available anymore. H&R's are the only specific springs available now. People have used the H&R's along with bilstein B4's in the past but you'd still be looking around the £400 mark.
  20. I've just fitted bilstein B4's on mine along with the eibach (I think) springs which were already on it. Original shocks on mine were absolutely goosed so the drive is much more pleasant.
  21. Take it off and knock the guts out of it.
  22. Is this in addition to you mk1 or replacement?
  23. There aren't any others mate. H&R are the only company to make specific springs for the VRS all the others that claim to fit are under-weight on the back. I'm currently in the same dilemma. Only other option is KW coilovers at £800 +
