  1. they grow up quackly?
  2. there speaks the voice of experience.....
  3. 4 tailpipes would sure have confused that wierdo in a physical realtionship with car (posted recently)...
  4. for all the undeserved bad press they get - SMF's are the only real way to go....
  5. wow - some interesting things you come across mate please do keep posting them up....
  6. Think it's just raising a cufuffle for image/advertising's sake tbh... Lot of fun to be had baiting the PC these days......
  7. Those wishbone bushes are a right PITA - even if you use washing up liquid as a lube... Bet you're glad you won't have to do that again! btw - did you notice any reluctance to engage 3rd gear around corners? That has now gone away? I found my console bolts to be loose and a good tightening sorted that prob out.....
  8. Mine did the same thing for a while - tiny leak at the OEM boost pipe joint, only really there at high pressure. Replaced the top pipe with a SS one with lips and clamped the lot - very smooth boost pressures and more power. Sure that's the prob mate, good luck Bas
  9. Just saw one about 10 mins ago at the dealers - looks cute tbh. Bas
  10. Was 51 for about 10 secs - just missed it with the camera driving home at 1pm! no heatsoak - amazing!
  11. Temps hit 51 deg C today - my Forge FMIC didnt allow any heatsoak despite trying to provoke it!
  12. thing is you could tune any turbo to beyond it's design limit - would work fine for a while and then an expensive noise would come from behind the engine. Unless you're entering a race, there is deffo a place for some conservatism in deciding on a final steady boost and spike boost limit. If you notice, several people who have hit the max bhp have gone through at least one ( and in some cases even 2) turbo's. A "blueprinted" OEM turbo may be able to rise to the challenge a tad better than an OEM stock one, but proper turbo-building companies can usually provide you with their own recommendations, which admittedly could be slightly lower than what you could run as they provide warranties. Turbo Dynamics is very good in the this regard, I saw the turbo map before I bought mine (misplaced since as usual!)....
  13. umm, you're really gonna hate me mate - 50 liters cost 6.70 GBP. It's a national fixed price that was raised 30% about 2 months ago.
  14. think this has been covered before in other threads. IIrc - no more than 1.65 Bar for the OEM kkk turbo (pushing it to the absolute max) and 2 Bar for the TD stage 2 (which it can run all day long) That's steady pressure, you can allow quick boost spikes over that a tad.. HTH Bas
  15. In fact - in theory you should lose less engine oil than "usual" as the vapours are not being actively sucked out, just passively vented... The more you boot it, the harder they are removed apparently more so on a turbocharged engine (?!). btw - anyone notice a difference in the UK after doing this mod? I know it made my car more responsive, but this climate is extremely hot.... I'd welcome any feedback, good or bad.. Cheers Bas
  16. thanks for the facts - so I could gain a lotta bhp just by going on a diet! about 8-10 bhp in fact. Jase hasn't got that advantage unfortunately Oh well......
  17. yank the window motors and replace with manual winders - save several Kgs right there....
  18. What's amazing is that I do get some reduction in power and it's a tad smoky but never any heatsoak! Roll on autumn......
  19. yesterday I could have said - I see your 42 and raise you 46...
  20. I fitted the 5l bottle - cannot remember for the life of me if I had a low level light before, but I think I did....
  21. due to disuse - the headlight washer pump packed up for the FMIC spray. Didnt use it last summer up to 46 deg, but want to see what effect it has on the FMIC this year... New pump on order, that's why no washer fluid - I yanked it out and there's a hole in me washer tank....
  22. aircon everywhere, but it's nuts outside tbh....
  23. The steam is apparently water vapour - legally you should have a catch-can (people have made them out of empty plastic coke bottles). You're venting vapour not liquid oil. Big trucks in the US do this mod all the time....
