  1. Does Lamin X reduce the brightness of your headlights projected onto a dark road at all, or is the light able to shine through it completely? I really like the look of the SE above but would hate to make my lights worse for driving.
  2. Mine's is from Shark and came with the car, it drives much better than my other half's standard Ibiza FR (ASZ) and my car is much quicker too. It'll be Shark i speak to when i upgrade the turbo and go for more power. PS - that's some spec in you sig Andy!
  3. brilliant write-up, i'm bookmarking this thread for when i upgrade later in the year
  4. i relish a challenge like that. My last crusade was with Chisholm Hunter and i won. Before that it was Evans Halshaw.... and we won
  5. Haha i just posted a similar thread yesterday! I can get part numbers for you tomorrow when i'm at the dealers unless someone beats me to it
  6. i plan on taking my car to the local dealership later this month to have the tailgate perforations looked at and repaired I'll update with how i get on
  7. Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated. I've gone ahead and bought a standard fit stubby aerial with the correct thread from eBay so as long as my base cleans up i'm sorted. I have a feeling it's grubby because the aluminum bee-sting was corroding against the steel in the base so with any luck it'll wipe off. Thanks again
  8. I had the standard one fitted and changed it to a metal anodised bee-sting i had from my first car. It was still a little too big and ended up rubbing against the spoiler, initiating the dreaded lacquer peel, so once the spoiler has been sorted i don't want to refit it. Is the Yeti base you have the sane as the Fabia mk1? If so I would take it as i'd like a new base as my original one is looking a bit poor.
  9. DAMMIT! So i'll need to get the other one as shown in your link?! Either that or just get a stubby Polo aerial and possibly the base too. That would be my preferred option as i don't have built in phone or sat-nav. Cheers for the info! Jrjg - i've removed the standard aerial already, it just unscrewed then came out with a good yank - the base needs to be removed from behind the headlining as per the guide posted above. ETA: I've found a 65mm aerial on eBay that has dimensions shown on the picture. It should line up perfectly with the base - my OCD hates seeing things that don't line up - that was my worry with the S2000 aerial.
  10. That's the polo version which has an aerial that screws into it, the part i'm after looks like the photo below and is apparently an original VW item from a Golf or Jetta. I don't know if that requires an amp but i read on here that it was plug and play once the bases are swapped over. There are non-OEM versions on eBay thanks to your part number i searched and found those images and i think i've found the right part number - 1K0 035 507 J
  11. as tittle - does anyone have a part number for the VW shark fin style aerial that can be retro fitted to the Fabia? I've searched through threads on here and although people mention it / the shorter Polo one / Honda S2000 no-one has posted a part number. I'd rather give the guy at TPS a part number than have him searching for something that might fit the bill. Cheers
  12. I'm in Glasgow Sean, just seen this thread. Nice Octavias you've had/have - i like the black one. I take it from your avatar you work for M8?
  13. The SE comes with a built-in multichanger so i'd like to keep that functional if possible.
  14. Hi all I'm looking for a new head unit - it must be single-DIN as i use the wee cubby hole below, i want to be able to change the lighting to green to suit the car and i want to be able to connect my existing CD multichanger as well as an iPod so 2 aux ports is a must. Ideally i want the one for the multichanger out of sight. Bluetooth for calls would be great but not essential. Really, i think i want a mechless set-up - can anyone recommend anything suitable? I've seen some have a USB slot so if that is one of the aux inputs i'd be happy to connect my iPod with the cable or an adapter, as long as the multichanger is constantly plugged in at the back. I'm looking to spend roughly £100 or thereabouts and i have plans to upgrade the speakers front and rear and stick a subwoofer in the boot so it needs to be able to handle that in the near future. Any links to where to buy from would be helpful too. Thanks Kevin
  15. Thanks for the help guys - new 5 amp fuse in slot 11 and the mirrors are spot-on. There's no fuse in slot 8 so i'm assuming she doesn't have heated mirrors but she's never had them to miss them Much appriciated lads
  16. thank you for the layout TMB Dan, i have a feeling it is fuse number 11 (her's is an '06) but if you get the chance could you double check the Haynes for me please? Kevin
  17. I'll have a look but both windows still go up and down and the switch to lock the door from inside the car still works so it seems unlikely that both would have gone. I'll have a look though.
  18. I know, I know, I'm posting on Briskoda about a SEAT but I've posted up on a seat forum a while ago about this and got no help plus I know a few guys on here have had Ibizas in the past. Anyway, the missus has had her 2006 mk4 FR for a few years now but since she got it the electric mirrors have never worked. It wasn't a big deal as the previous owner was a short arse woman like her so the mirrors were happily in the right position. It's annoyed me for a while and on the rare occasion that I drive the car I can't move them to suit. I was replacing the foglights and headlight bulbs today and tightening the handbrake cable so wanted to sort the mirrors. I tried to find out what fuse it was but couldn't find any info online. I think this should be the first port of call before I check the mirrors or switch. Can anyone tell me what fuse number it is and hopefully a location for it as well? Cheers (and sorry for the long post!)
  19. As per my seatbelt thread, i finally got round to sorting this at the weekend using my second hand seats. Thankfully the rod for the passenger side still worked so i managed to seperate that out and remove the old one. It's not an easy job manipulating the rod out of place and the seat fabric and foam needs to come completely off the seat back. It was worth it to have the rear seats working properly for the first time since i bought the car.
  20. I finally got round to doing this over the weekend, it was a 5 minute job! The seatbelt is £128 inc. VAT from the dealers / TPS but i managed to get a full rear bench for £30 and swapped the belts out. Should have done it ages ago...
  21. Yeah i'd agree with that. If it says "should not" and you have spoken to Skoda and the DVLA then you've sought further advice and know what you can and can't do.
  22. Cheers for the replies, i'll see if i can get a set ordered. Do you have a link to the eBay ones? I've tried searching for them but nothing is coming up.
  23. I've been reading about the Fabia Sport having red seat belts and was interested in getting a set for my car (as it has a blue / red theme throughout) - where can these be bought? If the dealer does them i'll end up having to give a reg. number unless i have the part number for them to check. Can anyone point any out at all? EDIT - just found this thread - http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/268479-fabia-sport-seatbelts/
