  1. Thanks for all of your feedback. Today i removed the oil and i will now keep an eye on it and see if there is a leak and how long it takes before it gets visible. Regarding the brakes i will try some more heavy braking and also try to have a friend of mine drive the car and see what he thinks of it.
  2. Gha.. I dont really want to go in another time.. Ive already been in to many times to do some minor warranty work. Thanks for your reply though. I will wash the engine tomorrow and see how much/fast new oil adds up. More feedback would also be appreciated, if you have a 1.2 TSI and seen the same leakage or have any thoughts about it.
  3. Today when i popped the hood i noticed that i have some oil seeping out from the cam chain cover on the left side of the engine. It is not very much but still i would have thought a new car came without oil leakage even though it is a small one? See the picture on how it looks. I have also noticed a some oil around the "valve" on the intake that seems to have been pushed out around the valve. Not as much as in the picture of the cam chain cover though. Is there someone else that have noticed this kind of oil leakage on their 1.2 TSI engines? Would it be considerd normal or is it something that i should visit the dealer for? I've also noticed that when i press the brake pedal all the way down under heavy braking there is something like a hesitation before the pressure is applied. Almost as if there was a delay of something <1second. But still enough for me to feel that first nothing is happening and THEN the brakes are applied. Is this something that all Fabia's have as a "feature"? My car is a 1.2 TSI 86hp, 2013 year model. It have done about 7800miles.
  4. No idea since i suck at launches. But 80-120 was a huge improvement:) Now it also pulls heavily all the way up to the redline instead of dying at 5k.I will report back when ice done some longer journeys regarding fuel consumption. Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  5. Ive been thinking of getting the TMC box for my 86ps Fabia TSI for some time. Last week i finally orderd one and today i received it. Before i placed the order i e-mailed some with Daron and he sent me a dyno sheet from a 86ps with the box stating around 120bhp. But ive also read alot about the fact that some people say a remap is the only proper way to go and a box like this wont delivery the power in a decent way. So i was very curious to test this tuning box and see if it works at all. When i unpacked the unit there was a red ecu, wiring loom, instructions and some candy The instructions were very basic and guided you through the actual installation but nothing more. It didnt mention anything about the dial on the ecu or if there was some kind of running-in time for the ecu. The actual installtion process was very simple. Just unplug 3 sensors and plug them into the wiring loom. If you are an experienced mechanic you would probably have done it in 5-10min. For me it took about 30minutes but 15min of those i was just trying to find a decent spot to place the new ecu.. After the installation i just started the car and everything worked as before. When i first when for my test drive i was quite dissapointed because i had expected more out of the box. Sure it pulled more/better than before but not that much as i had hoped for. (This could also be because my previous car was a Saab 9000 2.3T with 250hp, so i was expecting my Fabia to turn into that.. ) Then i decided to measure some acceleration numbers 80-120 3th gear for example. First try gave me a 6,1s run. BSR sells a remap for twice the price of the TMC box. The BSR remaps gives about 122bhp and improves the Audi A1 1.2 TFSI acceleration 80-120 to 6.7s from 9.3s. I also tried 80-140 and it came it alot lower than BSR stated numbers. BSR numbers can be found here http://sv.bsr.se/products/t2363/. Even though i expected more from the begining im very happy with the box this far. The car now pulls strong all the way to the redline instead of dropping of above 4500rpm and it is also alot stronger all over the RPM band. There is no big spike that gives you the power in a very small RPM range as i first thought it would be. So if you dont want to spend a smaller fortune for a remap i would definitly recommend a box from TMC. I cant really say anything bout the fuel consumption yet since ive only had the box for 1day. But hopefully it wont be worse if i drive sensible.. If you want some acceleration numbers just let me know from what speed/gear and i will get it for you. I tried to make some 0-100 runs but im the worst starter ever so i gave up after a couple of tries.. I will try and post a photo of the engine bay tomorrow
  6. Or your car runs perfect on fumes/air;)Well i finally found the button so im avoiding it now when im refuelling.. Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  7. Well i went in to a citroen dealer last weekend and asked for the price in between for a new c3 e-hdi. My Fabia 1.2 tsi elegance is 6months old and has done 8000km. Lots of equipment and had a list price of about 15k gbp, i was offered 9k for it. So it basicly dropped 6k gbp in 6months.. nice! Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  8. Have anyone else noticed that the paint on the door handles seems to be extremyl thin? My car is about 6months old soon and i already have several dents and marks on my door handles on the passenger side and also on one of the rear door handles. Worth mentioning is that i almost always travel alone and ive had people in the back seat maximum 3-4times. Have anyone else seen this?
  9. could you then share that wisdom with the rest of people here? My absolute lowest fuel consumption is about 55mpg but then i was driving more carefully than my grandparents... Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  10. Thanks. First of all my car have the lowered monté carlo suspension and also reversing sensor. Would any of this matter? How far have skoda prepared the leads in the car? Where would i find them when looking. What more than cutting and actually mounting the towbar is required to get it all working and through a MOT? Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  11. Any update to this thread? I want to add a towbar to ny fabia but i dont want to pay 1000gbp.. Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  12. same on my 1.2 tsi eleganceSkickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  13. My record for my 86hp tsi is 60mpg with winter tires and the engine had only done 5700km. So there is room for improvement. Although that time i was driving like a granny.. This car is very greedy on fuel if you go maximum 100km/h, then im down to about 50-55mpg. Around 120km/h and it drops to about 40-45 Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  14. If im not misstaken they get the new 1.2/1.4 tsi with belt drive :pSkickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  15. is the weight for the fabia really correct? My papers tells me that my 1.2 tsi manual the weight with fluids and 75kg driver is 1116kg Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2
  16. Oh okey. Then its not avalible in Sweden :( We only have the Fiat 500 "Style by Abarth" which is a Fiat 500 Twinair Sport afaik :( Holy ****, just found it! It costs like 2x Fabia 1.2 TSI elegance fully equipped But it is indeed a nice car!
  17. That car looks amazing! I had to look it up and it aint that expensive in Sweden! Im even thinking of trading my fabia for one But on the Swedish Fiat webpage they only list the "Fiat 500 Sport". Is that the Abarth? What engine does the Abarth have? From what i could understand from the swedish webpage it has the same engine options as the regular 500, in that case how is it possible that it has a diffrent exhaust etc?
  18. Im also getting low 40 or high 30 when doing shorter runs with my 1.2 TSI
  19. Ive never ever thought i would achieve the figures the manufacturer stated for fuel consumption. I dont know how they achieve the figures but i do think they polish them somehow.. For my 1.2 TSI engine they state 5.2liters/100km mixed driving and 4.4liters/100km regular roads. My best ever achieved fuel consumption with my car is 5.4liters/100km but that time i was so gentle on the throttle all the time and never exceeded 100km/h.. I might be able to push it down to around 5.0liters/100km with summer tires and when the engine have been run in, but im NEVER going to get close to the stated figures. But for me i knew that the stated figures by skoda should be considerd with a big grain of salt, just take the official figures and multiply it with 1.2 and you get your achievable fuel consumption..
  20. Your service cost in the UK is ridiculously cheap.. In Sweden they charge £90 for 3,6liters of Castrol Edge professional 5W-30 and the first service (if you are on variable) costs £380
  21. Okey well could you then explain how i managed to fill my tank with 46,7liters of fuel? I also had about 5-10liters in the tank before i started refuelling...
  22. Do you have a source on that? How do you fill the expansion tank?
  23. How big is the Fabia's fuel tank really? I have a 1.2 TSI and i usually fill the tank to the brim as soon as i get the bing and the refuel light comes on. Sometimes i can fill about 35-40liters but today i filled it with 46,7liters Isnt the whole tank supposed to hold 45liters MAXIMUM? I even had 90km left to drive according to the maxidot :S Have anyone else noticed this "problem"? I think this makes it very hard to really know how full the tank is after you refueled the car. Since it looks like you can "brim" it and also "brim" it but to diffrent levels. I always fill it untill the pump says stop, then i fill it a bit more but slower untill it stops again and then im done.
  24. Yeah we only have 2years of warranty in Sweden. Im only going to do the extra oil change in between the real service myself. The real service will ofcourse be performed by a Skoda garage. Hum here in Sweden the filter costs £19 and the plug £3, they also wants £85 for just the oil and the complete 24months service costs £360
