  1. Ordered our Octy on 27th March. Got a confirmed build week 22 although original unconfirmed build week was 19. Left the production line 31st May. Arrived Emden 3rd June and left on a boat heading for Newcastle on the 7th. now on its way to the dealer and I'm collecting on 26th so 13 weeks in total, so not too bad
  2. Sounds like a scary moment for you. Lucky no-one else was hurt.
  3. update on my post of 23rd May. My Octy Scout 184 didn't get cancelled. It was built week 22, made it to Port of Tyne on Saturday and I'll be collecting it on 26th June. Does it comply with new WLTP emissions standards, probably not (well actually definitely not !) Do I care - not a jot! Taken 5 year warranty which realistically means it has the go through years 3, 4 and 5 MOT's, by which time I'll be 74 and probably looking for something smaller and slower. Meantime, I'm just going to enjoy it.
  4. We had the electric seat option on our first Yeti, but didn't specify it on our second. I found both to be very comfortable. We do a 750 mile round trip to visit family every 6 - 8 weeks and never had a problem with comfort or driver position. We now have a Karoq Edition which has the electric seat and I struggle to get the lumbar support just right. No doubt I'll get used to it.

When I had a Yeti 2.0 150ps, I bought a couple of Adblue bottles from the local Skoda dealer. A bit pricey, but it was the bottles that I wanted. I fill these from a 10 litre can now and it means there is no chance of over-filling the tank and spilling it on the paintwork.
  6. To me, Business Grey and Meteor Grey are very similar, but Business is a metallic and Meteor is a solid. Both the same price so I don't know why anyone would order Meteor. I had Velvet Red, but on the Edition it was only an extra £325 which didn't seem too bad. Wouldn't have paid £900 I don't think, but it's true, it is easy to spot!!
  7. There's lots of options going to places like Gap Direct, amongst others. Probably get a 4 or 5 year deal with replacement vehicle rather than back to invoice for less than the dealers offer.
  8. Actually, I couldn't say hand on heart that it was Business Grey, could have been Meteor. The sun wasn't shining and it was going in the opposite direction (the car not the Sun!!) so only a fleeting glance really. It wasn't as dark as Quartz, but yes it looked good as well
  9. there does appear to be more about now. Not sure if they all have rear seats though Saw 4 this weekend around Livingston. One in white (couldn't tell if it was Candy or Moon) but it looked good, one in Petrol Blue which was gleaming in the summer sun, one in Energy Blue which looked good despite being the 1 basic solid colour and one in Business Grey.
  10. not on 4x4 (225 rather than 235 wheel size)
  11. I have a Velvet Red Edition with cream leather but it would take more than a b----y needle sweep to make me swop! Can't see the point and I also don't understand all the fuss about the digital dash.
  12. all without a trip to the opticians
  13. I have Velvet Red on a Karoq. It looks good in the sun, but as Driveucrazy says it doesn't really look like a metallic. You can see a metallic fleck in close-up but from a distance it does look more like a solid. I don't really understand why it is so much more money. On the Karoq Edition, metallic paint is standard but Velvet Red is an extra £325. I have an Octavia Scout on order and I spec'd Corrida Red as it's £695 cheaper. I've been at the dealers on a dull day and you don't see a lot of difference. I would also say it's absolutely nothing like Rio Red. It'll probably sell well around the Med as it does need a lot of sunshine.
  14. We paid ours of within a couple of days and paid £3.90 a day interest. Once you confirm your wish to withdraw they send a settlement figure which you have 28 days to pay. I don't think you pay any additional interest during this 28 days, although we paid ours by Bank Transfer the same day. You do have to withdraw within 14 days not to incur any penalties. I don't understand why any dealer would say pay it off after 6 months, unless of course they don't get commission on the finance if it's paid off earlier.
  15. We have an Octy Scout 184ps on order with a confirmed build week 22 (next week). Ordered on 27th March. Order book for this model closed first week in April. Presumably, this is the same power lump that goes in the diesel VRS.
  16. It's interesting that on the configurator you can still spec the Superb L&K Estate 190ps with manual g/box, but not with DSG. We have an Octavia Scout 184ps DSG on order (ordered about the same time) and as far as I know, that's still going ahead with an unconfirmed build week 22. Our dealer did say that if we'd ordered two weeks later we couldn't have had that Engine/gearbox combination, but at the time you could only order the Scout DSG with the 2.0 TDI 184PS engine or the manual version with the 2.0 TDI 150PS engine. Petrol versions were available in Europe but not the UK. I'll wait for bad news with interest.
  17. The only problem I've had with Blind spot detection is that it's automatically deactivated when you are towing (obvious really!!) but once you get used to it being there, you miss it when it isn't.
  18. Until I retired last year I worked for a Packaging Company for 24 years. In the early days Lost Time Accidents happened daily but by the time I left we had worked in excess of 3 years without any LTA's. That was down partly to people like WFM helping to install a quality safety culture with their specialist knowledge. Now retired, I still look at things in much the same way and sub-consciously risk assess pretty well everything I do. Without Health and Safety, we'll go straight back to the dark ages.
  19. We've just been on a jaunt with ours and only achieved 47.9. Lanark to Peterborough, via Newton Stewart ( to drop off the pup!!) Within 20 miles, a 900 mile round trip, with a mix of Motorway, Dual Carriageway and A roads, sticking pretty well to National speed limits. Pan sunroof open for much of the time, aircon on for the rest. Consumption is an average of the trip down Thursday and the trip back today. Interesting that on the A75 from Newton Stewart to Gretna road the are a lot of signs saying HGV 40MPH. Traffic Sign recognition picks them up and displays 40 on the Multi Function display.
  20. Octavia isn't doing much better! Ordered a Scout on 27th March. Originally build week 19. Now build week 22 but still not confirmed. Seems demand for the Karoq may have affected Octavia production
  21. amazing how much better everything looks in the sunshine. Black looks great but after owning a black Freelander I swore I'd never buy another black car. I ordered Velvet Red but that takes some looking after as well.
  22. I think SAD555 is missing the point. I loved driving the Yeti which is why I had two. All I'm saying is that it wasn't the most practical car in the world and it won't become a classic. There's a dedicated band of lovers in the UK, but it wasn't a raging success anywhere else. The wellbeing of thousands of Skoda workers and their families rely upon the success of the cars that they produce and the Yeti was no longer cutting the mustard.
  23. I've had 2 Yeti's, an Elegance 2.0 tdi 4x4 in 2013 followed by an FL SE L 2.0 tdi in 2015 (wanted L&K spec without the awful brown leather so up spec'd an SE L!!) It is indeed a Marmite car. I loved them, the missus didn't. My Mum was in a wheelchair and if we took her out in the Yeti, Mrs Bowdie had to sit in the back. Wheelchair wouldn't lie down in the boot with the seats up, so it had to stand in the boot. If we took the Grand kids out (7 & 5 so in kids seats) there was precious little room for their feet so they were always kicking the back of the front seats and 3 people couldn't sit comfortably in the back. We also had an Octavia Hatch which didn't have any of the space issues, so tended to use that whenever we needed to carry anything. I keep hearing about the "roomy Yeti" but I certainly didn't find it so. It always lived in the garage so hadn't shrunk, so they must both have been rear-ended somewhere between the factory and my house. We now have a Karoq which is a bit bigger but not much + it has a sloping tailgate which doesn't help. Now ordered an Octavia Scout to try and get the best of both worlds. Yeti was quirky, but I very much doubt it will ever be a "Classic"
