  1. We ordered an Octavia Scout DSG with KESSY, Electric Boot, Winter pack and spare at the end of last week (week 13) Currently being told week 19. Dealer is West End Garage Dunfermline and they will keep us informed. I think some dealers may hold back orders to next month once they've reached their target. Ours certainly doesn't
  2. I don't know how often the oil should be changed. We had a 40k mile service on our Yeti the other week and they did recommend that the Haldex oil be changed. Didn't actually do it as we were trading the car in the next week anyway. We had the car from new and got 3 free services as part of the finance from Skoda FS , so all the services had been done by Main Dealer. I'm not aware that the oil had been changed at any of the other services. We took the 5 year warranty with our Karoq and have spec'd it on our Octy Scout due in June.
  3. Appreciate it doesn't help, but it does all makes Skoda Extended warranty look good value. Not sure how much it was on a Yeti, but £630 on a Karoq, £515 on an Octavia 5 years 100,000 miles
  4. Thanks Scott. It all sounds like a bit of a con just to get more money out of us. You'd think LED lights would be just that!! I see you're in Dunfermline so presumably you deal with West End Skoda. We've been dealing with them since 2013, picked up our Karoq on launch day in January and now have a Scout on order. Always found them to be excellent for sales support and service.
  5. Our dealer threw in Life Shine and I think the protection pack came as part of that. Front and rear mudflaps, front and rear rubber mats and boot liner. Not sure of the cost as the dealer threw it in as part of the deal. We've had the same (I think) Life Shine pack quoted on the Scout we have on order and it's £387 which looks to make £200 just for mud flaps seem hellish expensive.
  6. Not sure how that works. We've just ordered an Octavia Scout which has LED Rear Lights High Functionality available as an option and it doesn't have any lights on the back door.
  7. Probably not. I've had both and I think the Karoq is bigger, more comfortable, loads of tech that I'll probably never use, I think better looking and probably depreciate at a slightly slower pace. If you read some of the threads on this forum, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Skoda have cocked up, but I suspect not. I think they did get it wrong with the last few months production of the Yeti by making too many, so new and nearly new Yeti's have flooded the market which has killed the residual values. Meantime, the Karoq has been so successful that they're now manufacturing in 2 factories and you still have to wait 4 or 5 months to get one. Doesn't really sound like a bad commercial decision by Skoda!! Time will tell but I suspect the Karoq will easily outsell the Yeti worldwide. I don't believe that the Yeti was ever that popular outside of the UK.
  8. Had our Karoq since 11th Jan and haven't needed to lift the bonnet yet, but I can't see it being a problem.
  9. We bought ours because we liked the ride height of our Yeti and 2 4x4's made sense. We live in a remote area about 1000 ft above sea level so weather isn't always that great. Traded in our Octavia, but quickly missed the space that the Octavia offered. Karoq is a bit bigger than the Yeti, but nothing like as big as the Octavia. We've now traded in the Yeti for an Octavia Scout. Both me and the missus have retired, kids have left home, but now we have grand kids so nothing really changes.
  10. My Grandkids use Britax Romer seats and had the table out in a matter of seconds. Problem was they didn't know how to fold them up (down) again!

    Yeti gone!!!

After owning 2 x Yeti's, the first a 2.0 TDI 140ps Elegance 4x4 that I bought in March 2013 and then a 2.0 TDI 150ps SE l 4x4 DSG from October 2015, I am now Yeti-less. We bought a Karoq to replace an Octavia but found both the Yeti and the Karoq to be sadly lacking in space for anything other than people. With this in mind, I've ordered an Octy Scout 2.0 TDI 184ps DSG. Trade in value of the Yeti is pretty crap at the moment although it might improve once Skoda and dealers have shifted left over stock. Have to say I've loved both on my Yeti's, but nothing is forever and I'm now looking forward to the Scout, which probably won't arrive till early June. I can fully understand why Yeti owners love their cars, but the Karoq in my mind is a good replacement, but having spent North of £30k, I'm not likely to say anything else.
  12. Finally got our front mudflaps and rear rubber mats fitted Tuesday
  13. Thank you all. Some interesting info to digest, although as highlighted it has been confirmed that the 1.4 is no longer available as a factory order. Still may go for a Scout which is diesel anyway. Going to talk to my dealer tomorrow.
  14. We're looking to buy an Octavia SE L Estate. We want a petrol engine. 2 are offered 1.4 150PS or 1.5 150PS. Both have the same power, torque, performance and fuel consumption, so why would I pay an extra £300 for the 1.5?

    Insurance

We went from an Octavia 1.6TDI SE L to a Karoq 2.0 TDI 4x4 Edition and Insurance stayed the same.
  16. Unfortunately, I bought mine. My old Yeti and 2 years 0% for the balance. So £604 a month for the finance + £610 a month depreciation makes it a very expensive car. I don't love it as much as I did!!
  17. I've had 2 Yeti's. First one was an Elegance 140 PS 4 x 4 which I loved. Traded that for a 150 PS SE L 4 x 4 with most of the L&K goodies except the sunroof. Love that as well, but now have a Karoq Edition 150PS 4 x 4 and love that even more. Not as quirky as a Yeti but more comfortable, slightly roomier and much more tech, and I have to say it looks better. I always wanted red, but a Yeti in red looks like postman Pats van, but I do now have a red Karoq. It's a good time to buy a second hand Yeti as they're loosing value like there's no tomorrow. Currently looking to trade mine against a 184PS Scout, Yeti has 40k miles on the clock, 29 months old in pristine condition and it looks like depreciation is going to work out at around £610 a month. That's a frightening number.

    tow bars

I had the factory fit one which is brilliant, but as you say it's very expensive. They're actually made by Westfalia so you may be able to get it cheaper going down that route. Not sure where you live but I believe Westfalia have a UK fitting centre somewhere in the South West, and they also have fitting agents scattered around the country. Did you order Towbar Prep with the car as this makes the fitting of an aftermarket towbar cheaper and quicker.
  19. 6 Speed DSG is still fitted in the 2.0 TSI 220PS and the 2.0 TSI 280PS. It's also still used in the 2.0 TDI Octavias including the Scout.
  20. appreciate that but when I've sat beside a busy road changing the wheel, I'm too stressed the think logically
  21. Systems always worked well for me. We had an Octavia which told you which tyre was at fault, but sensibly you'd check all the wheels anyway. Spacesaver spare plays havoc if you have to use it though.
  22. It's neither standard nor a cost option. I wanted it on our Edition as it's very handy when you need to carry something long. It was available in the Yeti but unfortunately not on its successor.
  23. We don't really have a problem with the tables. Admittedly, they're not particularly good quality, but we only really have our Grandkids in the back and the endest of them is only 7 at the moment so space isn't really an issue. Having said that, we did change the kids seats from group 1 2 3 to group 2 3 as the seats are shorter, but they definitely have more room in the Karoq than they do in the Yeti. By the time the tables become an issue, someone will have worked out how to remove them sympathetically. Who knows, if enough people complain, Skoda may develop an upgrade kit.
  24. I take your point, but in the spec, it does mention that they have front wipers and I guess most cars have them as well
  25. Good point. We did get a brochure for the Karoq, but every picture of the car had the comment "Car shown may not be UK Spec" so why put it in a UK brochure? With the Karoq, it doesn't mention rear wash wipe in the spec for any trim level, but I believe they all have it. But I suspect it's not just Skoda.
