  1. I pay 750 with admiral with 2 years no claims. No help and no points. I've just turned 23.
  2. I've changed mine to a australia to get the big MPH and even took it in without changing it back and they didn't even care so I guess its not really something they worry about.
  3. Hey guys, does any one know the part numbers for these? I'm missing one as I must have left it on the engine. The dealer near me couldn't confirm so if anyone could shed some light on it I would be happy. Its a single projector black pack VRS light. The numbers on it weren't a good number apparently! Cheers!
  4. Nah I haven't mate, I clean it regularly and haven't noticed any spread of damage but will keep an eye on it.
  5. I've got that! Its so annoying but I find dealers are more trouble then its worth when it comes to silly things like this!
  6. Hey guys! Sorry for all the silly moaning posts about my car.. honest I love it and I hasn't missed a beat at all. I just don't post the good stuff on here.. maybe I should as I'm getting some bad luck! :( Firstly, I brought some Ultra Bright White 5000K bulbs through a link on here and one decided to keep playing up.. then it decided to melt its own casing into the cars block connector which I'm pretty ****ed about. Luckily I managed to get the spade connector out with some plyers and apart from plastic damage, the connector is fine. Tbh its put me off buying cheap crappy bulbs forever and would rather stick to O.E or equivalent. I noticed my car came with Philips Bulbs as standard, do you reckon I should just stick with them to be safe? I don't want to wreck my wiring loom to the light as I bet that is MEGA bucks to fix!
  7. Well, I would slightly agree with Black wheels looking a bit "naff/show off" on 1.2 Corsas and stuff, I mean seriously what is it with 17 year old kids driving black alloy fiesta 1.2's and vauxhall corsa's! I drove one a year ago and the sales guy said.. yeah its got the looks of a VXR but with a low insurance group and running costs. Basically, I wasn't impressed.. they struggle todo 70mph. I love pulling up to next to these kids at the nearest traffic light start line to watch them show me there impressive grand prix start. SORRY.. off topic.. I quite like all black personally though and yes... ITS A B**CH to keep clean! I spend hours cleaning. I have a tally of how many small scratches that have appeared now though! :(
  8. Cheers for all your help and posts guys! I think I may just have to wait until they get more curbed and just buy some new replacements for one side. 130 odd quid a alloy isn't to bad I guess. I went through one toll .. (by accident) hehe, but it was pretty wide. I think I may have done it driving on to the ferry as they have wheel guides on the deck, like raised metal that I may of kissed. Crazy narrow but still very frustrating. I've had Bridgestone potenza's on my last cars with the same profile and the rim protectors seem to be a bit more heavy duty so may try them next.
  9. haha, yep and i got the same colour and wheels. i know what you mean about common now
  10. I agree, my trip to and from work is mainly A/B roads, 30mph/60mph and about 5 mins of town traffic. On a good run 50+ is achievable but driving super economical. That can change depending on something as small as a car pulling out in front of me to simply the amount of wind. I'm getting 39MPG average at the moment which I think is perfectly acceptable.
  11. She is beautiful Sharkrider! Plus a good place to put the sticker! I've got the same colour in the same place. Looks smart!
  12. Love it Sharkrider! Not that I'm bias with the wheel and body colour combo at all. Jabozuma also has the right idea! However, I am rather jealous that you have and estate as I sorta regret choosing the hatch. Its a little way off yet but I'm a bit stuck what to go for next.. I wouldn't mind getting another one identical to yours as the extra space would be brilliant.. but then I'm sorta tempted by going a bit more sensible and getting a 170CR Octavia VRS Estate. The decisions! I haven't had a chance to drive one on Dunlops but the conti's seem fine to me.
  13. Seriously... I don't know how I manage this! I don't go near curbs, dodge drains and pot holes, yet I managed to scrape two alloys on a driveway on a slightly raised concrete slab .. bearing in mind this was in the middle of the drive way. I'm not talking any curbing or edges.. literally it had cracked and sunk, leaving a edge just high enough to hit the lip of the rim. Now.. I've just got back from France and found my front passenger wheel curbed nearly all the way round the lip... yet as you all know.. the Frenchies drive on the other side so that wheel would have been no where near a curb and there was two passengers in the car at all times. Not once did I hit a curb or anything of the sort. Seriously, what is going on... are my tires so low profile that the rim sits on the tarmac or something? By the way, I'm not joking... In the past five years I've never curbed any of my cars alloys. I'm so careful to the point where I won't move out of the way of a car if it means getting near the wheels worst nightmare. Anyone else experienced similar events? Maybe I'm just unlucky?? I honestly have never experienced a car so prone to curbing! The continental sport contact 2 tires are useless! Does the rim protector actually do anything? I dread to think what 35 profile tires would be like!
  14. I have the new CTHE engine and can confirm that there is a very slight surge at 5000rpm that soon dies out heading the wrong side of 6K. Its not crazy noticeable but it felt similar to the turbo surge in my DS3 but obviously a lot higher up the range and only for a fraction of a second. Its almost like boost surges for 1000 rpm... only slightly. It may be a bit of placebo effect but its definitely noticeable to some extent Hope this helps! I'm on 3600 miles by the way, still a little tight in the engine bay.
  15. Bloody annoying cos i found a slight curbed bit on my Black Gigaros.. not even worth the repair as its stupidly small.. Fancy selling one lol?
  16. I think your getting confused.. from what i gather.. (see the manual) that bent wire is designed to take the centre cap off. If you have a look at your manual it confirms this. If you look, it even states in there that you have to use the tweezers to pull the nut caps off. You should ring up and complain as well! I did and they are sending me some free of charge. Hopefully getting back my MDI cable on Monday as well! Happy days!
  17. Thanks guys! Apart from that, they are brilliant and I have no problems with the dealer at all. Just two little things really. Rattles can be hit and miss as well I know. I just want my tweezers and MDI cable really. The rest can be sorted when the problems arise. Regards Oliver
  18. Cheers for the suggestion, I tried that and it said it didn't recognize the media interface. By all means if you know otherwise please let me know as it might be my ipod!!! Its working fine everywhere else and sync's to my computer so I don't think its my ipod connection.
  19. I'm not complaining to be spiteful as the sales guy in there was really nice and helpful. It was Vindis Skoda in Bury St Edmunds. I just don't believe that Skoda would not give you the tool from factory to put some stupid plastic caps off. It would mean that every time you have a puncture, you would have to destroy the caps to get the wheel off and if you didn't have a screwdriver handy, you would be screwed unless you have fingers like eagle claws. The MDI cable is just annoying as I only accepted it as I was told that it would work with my ipod as well. I'm not minted, so 40 odd quid for a genuine one is a waste of valuable money. I have put a claim in with Skoda UK though and they are sorting it out.
  20. So yeah, I've taken my car in to change the sensor and guess what... cos there's no evidence its broken, they literally just looked at in and gave it a clean bill of health. Checked the lumpy idle... surprise surprise, it hasn't appeared when they had it. Same with the rattles.. I live with the dam thing every day so I know what I can hear and feel! My MDI cable is a USB one and I was told when the car was delivered that it would work with my ipod so they swapped it so I could use USB sticks as well. Guess what... it doesn't! So i asked for my Ipod one back and they won't swap it back even though they gave me wrong info.. Add insult to injury.. today.. Checked my spare wheel took kit and its missing the little wheel nut cap pliers... phoned them up and they said.. 'sorry sir, its not included'. How the hell are you meant to change your wheel at the side of the road without it then? There reply: 'Use a screwdriver' I said, i've tried that on old cars and its snapped them... they should put that in the manual.. 'please provide own screwdriver for your 17 grand VRS in case of a puncture' Well annoyed! Some may call me tight for not buying one as they are cheap as chips but that's not the point! P.s.. anyone want to swap a USB MDI cable for a Ipod one?
  21. Ah cool! cheers for your help guys! Do you know when the update was issued? My car was a Jan 2013 build so i assume it would already have the update? I may ring Skoda up and ask them.
  22. Fair enough... I'm not that bothered about it, just seems weird considering if I was sitting in a 25 grand Audi a1 with this engine in or a Scirocco or whatever.. I would not deem that acceptable haha! Oh wells!
  23. Erm, I have driven it like I've stolen it a few times, and cruised about just as much so I would say I've driven it normally. I don't really follow all the 'don't rev over 4000 rpm' nonsense for 1000 miles. I've just enjoyed it. I commute about 20 miles a day for 5 days driving it slowly and sensibly.. and then weekends I give it some beans. Anyone got any ideas about the lumpy idle? I've seen it mentioned a few times on here before..?
  24. Grey VRS hatch 12 plate through Raydon, Suffolk. Looked nice! Also, I'm now on 2500 miles and have noticed lumpy idle recently when starting up while cold. Revs around 1000 rpm. I use super unleaded all the time. Nothing to worry about? Should I get it checked?.... Good news... I've used no oil from new to 2500 miles. HAPPY DAYS!
  25. If the VRS looks anything like that.. I will seriously consider getting one. I personally like the looks. Still, I wouldn't mind taking a look at the Octavia VRS when it comes out!
