Morning All.

Think I am at last getting my car back. Leak sealed (Skoda sent bulletin on curing leak) Interior now replaced and ccmodule renewed and wiring repaired.

At least I have saved just over 2000 miles on it!!!

By the way the Fabia diesel went well but is rather hard riding and noisy.

IVE GOT MY CAR BACK AND IT ALL WORKS......!!!!! Hoorayyy.

The Dealer and Skoda both contributed to the cost - nothing for me to pay.

Thanks for all the help and advice.

Good news

Did you buy from a dealer or private?

I dont think should be an issue if the car has a full Skoda service history

I bought my 02 1.8T Comfort from a back street dealer with a full Skoda history but out of warranty, within 3 months of owning it I had the same problem, needless to say I hadnt even paid for a service yet so I took it to my local dealer, Farmers Skoda Leicester.

They told me that even though there was no warranty it had a full Skoda history so Skoda were prepared to pick 80% of the repair bill and to make it better they also drops the 20% I had to pay as they were satisfied the Skoda payment would cover their costs, so all in all a bloody good result!

I would go back and play bloody murder and insist they do it as it is a clear Skoda/VW design fault and if Skoda have paid for other cars to be repaired that is admitting its their problem, They are all on the same system so they should be able to check out what you are claiming!
