Flashing temperature light?!

Featured Replies

Hey, every time i drive my Fabia Classic 1.4 the temperature warning light comes on with 3 loud beeps. Some times it starts as soon as the car does, other times you can get a couple of miles before it starts, but without fail it always comes on. Once its on it never goes off. The temperature gauge works fine, its just the light.

It's been into various garages, all have said they can't find the fault. Can't stand the little blinking light anymore and need some help? :thumbdwn:

Hi i have the same problem i found the answer on here its the sensor thats built into the bottle the bottle will need replaced or just bridge out the connection

Replace the expansion tank, they're quite cheap.

I had this on my vrsand it needed a new rad!

Is that 'cos your car actually was running out of coolant. The fault Ralthster's talking about happens when the tank's full and the engine's cold. It's a pretty common fault, and like fordfan's already said, a new expansion tank will cure it (unfortunately the sensor can't be replaced independently, but the tank's only something like £12 plus a top-up of any coolant you spill!)

Cleaning the contacts and/or the electrodes inside the tank may also fix it if you're lucky!

mine was doing the same changed the expansion tank and it was only12pound from skoda and only a 15min job top up with water away you go
