No A: drive!!!

Featured Replies

Just noticed (after nearly 2 years) that the PC on my desk doesn't have an A: drive! How am I going to circulate boot sector viruses now? :D

Some fun can be had with USB memory sticks (even when someone's machine is locked)... ;)

I take it autorun works even when the machine is locked, then? It's turned off at home (more 'cos I can't be bothered with Media Player kicking in when I want to rip mp3s), but not at work... :rubchin:

Not that I'm planning on doing anything along those lines, of course... ;):D

(Un)fortunately no, on a locked machine it's a bit trickier than using autorun and it's quite limited on what can be done - though of course it's not like it's hard to persuade people to put a USB stick into their machine without them asking what's on it... ;)

Ah, best not ask too much more about it, being at work and all... ;):D

At work the USB ports are disabled too, so no to memory sticks.

Sure that wasn't fire wire and the fact that it has real memory addresses given to the port?

That is a lot of fun :D

You can still get an "A" drive that plugs into the USB

No, I wasn't aware of that one...sounds interesting... :rubchin: :D

On xp sp1 you could unlock a machine using a usb stick and a cleverly crafted autorun file ;)

Lots of information out there but it isn't exactly hard to do some very nasty things with that feature :D
