2005 was about it for the mk1 vRS, it could be they runout of the black headlining and didnt want to get any more mk1 black made. After all the mainstream mk1 was already out of production, and only taxis are now made. These all have light coloured headlining.

The vrs really is a bit of a mish mash car.

The 2002 model year was introduced around Aug 2001 this 2002 spec as we call. It made a number of small changes to the Octavia range of cars not just the RS. As far as the RS goes the initial 2002 model year changes where flick knife type key, retractable roof aerial and blue tinted side mirrors, my September 2001 RS has these changes earlier ones had clear mirrors removable aerial and a normal type key.

Later in 2002 a change was made that RS's now have a black headlining but was not part of the initial 2002 model year change.

Options on RS's started to be available about Nov 2001 and wher rev sensors, sunroof and cruise control.
