CCTV Footage

Featured Replies

Hi people, after a little help and advice please.

My brother had his car hit by a lorry yesterday while it was parked on his works car park. He's got the CCTV footage but we can't quite see the reg plate of the lorry. Would anyone be able to offer any help with regards zooming in and clearing up the image enough to be able to see the reg plate clearly please??

The lorry is plain white with blue side curtains but having been to where the lorry was making a delivery and made a few enquiries, he's managed to track down the owners of the lorry but, of course, they're after the reg plate before they acknowledge that it was their lorry.

His insurance company want a copy of the CCTV footage and we're going to give a copy to the Police after he reported it to them and they gave him a blue form to fill out.

You can clearly see the lorry driver trying to turn round but as soon as he hits the car, he quickly drives off in the direction he was heading in the first place.

Any help would be great please.

Post a still of the wagon and I'm sure someone will get the reg No....

Trying to get a still off the cctv but haven't managed to find a way yet.

If you can get the vid onto a PC there are many apps that can clean it up - many now come free with Vista and Macs ;)

The police however would need the original as well as any enhanced vid.

Is it possible another firm/business caught it on CCTV? Council CCTV that would have been passed?

I'll have a look round for some apps that can clean it up. All we're working with at the moment is the program that downloaded onto disc off the cctv computer at his work and windows media player.

The Police don't seem to be giving a cr*p about it at the moment and i'm even thinking of going to the lorry yard to see if i can spot the one on the cctv. They're a smallish firm, so hopefully won't have too many of the same lorry and it's not that far from where i work.

I have asked him to check with the business next door to see if they may have a reg or something on their cctv but i don't think he's getting much help from them.
