Guys This is my first post besides saying hello. Let me just say I know nothing about cars but i love my Octavia probably one of the best cars ive ever had. It past mot last week and i never spent a penny on it before hand, coz i wanted the centre to tell me what it needed. Then two days later the blue smoke appeared coming out of the exhaust. Yip the turbo packed in. New one was due to arrive today, still hasnt arrived yet. Bought the car for work and im now using the Mrs wee suzuki alto (you know the one that runs on two AA batteries) Ok can some one tell me is my car an Octy I or II.

I suspect its a Octy I anyone confirm? Thanks.

Ps found this site a while back when i didnt know how to get door panel off and sure enough wasnt there a step by step with pictures. Very helpful

Yep, at that age it'll be a I. The II's came out in about 2004.

Your right mate, its an Octy 1. The 2 came out 2005? I think. (beaten to it)

Specifically , it will be a pre-facelift Mk1 octavia

The "letter" models were the first version.

The post-facelift ones were the "classic" , "Ambiente" , "Elegance" and so on
