300lbft torque

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone can help with this one. My goal is to get 250- 300lbft torque out of me Octy RS. I'm not bothered about bhp figures i just want loads of torque. Would Jabba be able to sort this on for me? or Awesome in Warrington?

Also my RS is to soft on the suspension side of things. I want to stiffen it a fair bit, but only want to lower the car by about 10-15mm. Where i live is very rough, the nose bottoms out on a daily basis.

Cheers

250lbs torque can be adchieved with a Milltek dp and 100 cel cat or the new Jabba dp/cat (100 cel) + remap and boost controller.

I'd guess that for more torque you'd have to get a bigger turbo although, a side effect would be more power as well. ;)

Not very technical my next explanation but I think you get the idea...standard ride height is around 3 fingers width....I've set my KW3s to around 2 fingers depth which is approx 15-20 mm lower.

Height is measured between bottom edge of arch to top of tyre.

I'm sure one of the Gurus will pipe up in a little while.

All my normal disclaimers apply. ;):D

Thanks for that, it's all becoming a bit clearer now. cheers Si

Will a 100 cell sports cat stop the check engine light from coming on? What I mean is, does it still scrub the exhaust gases enough to stop the lambda sensor behing the cat from showing an emissions fault?

It should do yes, but think of all that extra potential you are robbing ;)

kw 3's all the way for the suspension, you decide how stiff you want them, and the lowering. I myself ended up on 15mm lowering cause the roads here are shocking. (pd tdi engine + sump guard took away a bit of the ground clearance as well)

Doesnt the Octy have a torque limiter @ 270lb/ft or something?

also youll start having gearbox trouble anything over that too....

you should buy a Diesel.. ive got 270lb/ft standard :D

Bigger turbo and performance exhaust/cat + remap will see you over the 250 mark easy. K04 turbo acheives this without needing to run high boost. AMD knocked 263 ftlb out of their conversion on my engine. First gear acceleration is no better than standard engine though cos all that torque breaks traction at the flick of an accelerator peddle. Outstanding in-gear accelaration though!

My car made 279lbs of torque on a std turbo with APR -(on the rollers at a revo dealer)

Spoke to Awesome in Warrington today. They can get 250lb ft torque with their remap. Jabba said that the standard turbo can only take 250 so, it's all lookin good. Awesome are even prepared to remap it and let me test drive before paying, great stuff. Jabba suggested anti-roll bars for the stiffness, does anyone know of any good kit out their?

Cheers for the help folks.
