New Tyres 205 45 16

Featured Replies

Anyone know the best place in the North West to buy 4 of these tyres ???

Also I have 4 steel wheels and tyres to dispose (free) of but they must be collected.

Cheers for the advice

Going for Nexen 3000 on mine next I think

Got two Nexen N3000 tyres fitted yesterday after ordering them from Blackcircles.com. They cost me £108 all in (fitted, balanced and valved). They have the 'V' tread which I think looks pretty nice actually.

I COULD have gone for something more expensive, but after having done some research these tyres seem to have quite a cult following, especially in the States and Asia. I have to say, I've not yet read a bad review on them, all saying that they offer great performance coupled with a reasonable price. Time will tell, but even on my way home yesterday the car felt more grounded, stickier and the road noise was definately quieter than the ContiSport II's I had before.

I'm chuffed at having appeared to have got a bargain, and if these do the business then I'll probably stick with them.

I was going to go for them... but decided on Kuhmo KU31 now as theyre £50 each on camskill

I just bought a pair of Toyo Proxes TR1's from Camskill tyres online.... Came to £120 inc. next day delivery for the pair and then £10 each to have them fitted at my local tyre place.

Cheers

Dave.

St James' Tyres in Birkenhead (Laird Street) are the cheapest around both for supplying and fitting.

Yep, decent tyres those Toyo Proxes, had them on my last car, Golf GTI. However, I have to say that for me (and it is my opinion) the ContiSport II's where/are a better tyre in terms of wear and wet grip. The Nexens on the other hand, whilst not widely known on these shores, are raved about in the States, so having never tried them I thought I'd give them a go. I've had the Pirelli's, Michelins, Dunlops etc yawn and for the extornionate amount they charge for them I thought I'd take my trade elsewhere for a change. The Nexen N3000 are enjoying good publicity at the mo, the owner of the tyre place I had them fitted at yesterday has the same ones on his car, and he swears by them.

So, watch this space, they'll either be crap, average or a revelation.
