Sound deadening in my Fabia

Featured Replies

Still a bit to do as this is only the first door!!!

taken me about 5.5hrs to get to this point (another half hr should finish it) not bad for 1st timer and not having a clue how to remove metal door panel.

should be quicker on the next one

first removed door card (taking plenty pics to make sure i know where everything goes back)

Oh yeh, glass came out at that point too

gave it a clean and applied 3 sheets of damplifier

reattached (well didn't really as i've no big rivets, i'll get some tommorrow) metal panel cleaned it and applied 2 sheets of damplifier

then stuck some overkill to the back of the door card to stop any rattles (will go back and do this to any wires when i see how much i have left)

thats where i'm up to just now.

if you've any suggestions make them now please (before i put everything back together)

Hope it's enough

I'd have thought a lot of the road noise comes from the a and b pillars and the floorpan. Any ideas on how to sound deaden those areas?

remove the trim and apply some deadening of some kind A&B pillars will give slight wind noise so best to go for some knid of foam /jute product.

i'm going to do the floor at some point. carpet out and stick mat down then mass loaded vinyl over the top.

should be fun:D

Looking good, a wee bit of preventitive maintainance if you are doing the rears it might be worth doing the door seals while your at it :thumbup:Fabia-vrs.com - Re-sealing Fabia Rear Ancillaries Carriers

cheers, yeh was going to do that.

they were done by the stealers under warrenty but i'll have to burst the seal to deaden them so will redo it.
