Hello and whooops!

Hello All,

My good lady decided to see if our Octavia 1.9TDi DSG estate would go any faster if she put unleaded in it, It didn't and I had to get it collected by Skoda assist. Now I've read quite a few threads already about this (but only after I had it "repaired" at a Skoda Garage).

As normal the car was gasping on it's last drop of diesel before it got a £20 dose of unleaded. It manage 1mile then stopped....

Now the Skoda garage only drained the tank and change the fuel filter according to the invoice (£100) even though they had been told it had been run with petrol in it).

Last night my good lady said the oil light had come on and when I checked the oil level was low.

Are these two things connected? Do people think the Garage did a sufficient job? Any other advice welcome?

Cheers a concerned

I have no idea but welcome to Briskoda...I would enter a thread in the techy forum or the Octavia forum..

Hope you get sorted...

welcome along. in a recent newspaper story skoda were the cheapest when it came to wrong fuel issues, so look on the bright side it wasnt a vw, audi or even a bmw as your wallet would have been hell of a lot more lighter.

Hiya.

Short answer to the oil question is "no".

I don't think a mile on petrol will have done any great harm either.

Welcome :)

Welcome. Sorry to hear about the mishap. But agree, 1 mile cant have done that much harm.

Hello and Welcome to Briskoda :D

A mile on unleaded wouldn't do that much damage...
