Skoda Superb Mods

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I am new to the sight, and want some advice regarding the Suspension on My 02 Superb 1.9PDI Comfort.

I`ve had the car from 7K and it now has 75K on the clock. The shocks feel a little soft and ready for replacing. Usually i would replace the car for something newer, but it runs great, shows no signs of wear, has only done motorway mileage and i know its history!!!

I would like to lower the car slightly for cosmetics, improve the handling, and am also wondering about a re-map and air filter change.

Anyone have any suggestions regarding the suspension, ie. make, model and approx cost.

Is it advisable to remap an engine with this mileage?

I spend weekends around nottingham and weekdays near tonbridge so if anyone knows of any companies that they would recomend in those areas i would be interested in hearing.

Hello there and welcome to Briskoda:thumbup:

Good car..I'm not too up on the Superb mods myself but would imagine that lowering springs and shocks shouldn't be too difficult to get sharing the platform with the Passat for in and arround the £400 mark or you could spend the extra and go the coilover route:thumbup:. As for remapping and air filter. I don't think the mileage is too much, you would just have to ensure the clutch and dual mass flywheel were in good enough condition as they tend to wear a bit more with a remap..170bhp is the norm with this engine for reliability and driveability...

Hope this helps....:)

Welcome :)

Cheers for the reply. Do you know what difference the coilover route will make? Car mods etc are all new to me (as well as using forums!!!!)
