Sony HU fitting problem

Featured Replies

fitted the CDX unit today, and aside from problems getting the ruddy thing to slide into the dash without the Ipod adaptor wire stopping it all is well!

Just one issue i do require help with......as soon as the ignition is turned off the HU resets itself and it doesn't keep any of the settings that i input, did i miss anything on installation and if so does anybody know what to do to resolve it??

Thanks

Yes you should have a couple of bullet connectors on the loom supplied with the new HU. These will most probably need to be swapped. Check the pin outs beforehand though so as not to do any damage.

Like Stu says, you have the permanent live and switched live the wrong way round. For some reason, many VAG cars (and vauxhalls IIRC) have them one way round, others the other. That's way HU's have the swappable lines.

As above, swap the yellow and red wires around. The yellow on the radio loom to the red on the car loom and vice versa.
