I think we can guess what sort of speeds you're regularly doing on that motorway!

Here are the approx mpg figures for a VW Golf 2.0TDi at various constant speeds, from a test carried out by AutoBild magazine:

50mph - 61mpg

60mph - 54mpg

70mph - 48mpg

80mph - 42mpg

90mph - 36mpg

100mph - 30mpg

It's actually surprisingly linear - note that you lose 6 whole mpg for every 10mph faster you go.
