Airbag warning light and radio problems..

Featured Replies

Hi peeps, I have a 97 1.3 felicia and literally the other day my car started fine but the radio appeared to flicker and turn itself off and now the airbag warning light has come on at the same time (eek!), reading other threads could it be the voltage regulator, seeing as the radio works fine until the cars started? is this the case? cheers, Reece-o

Sounds like the regulator to me, unless you have a short in the fusebox due to water getting in

Connect a voltmeter across the battery terminals and start the engine. A reading higher than 14.5 V will point to a faulty voltage regulator.

If it is the regulator then get it replaced asap before any damage is done to the key electrical systems.

Hi, I've just bought a multimeter and when the car is not running the battery is at 12.5V but when it is running it is only reading 11.6V, which i assume is too low? thanks.

this can still be a dodgy regulator.

It can go either way, it either over or under chargers.

Infact, if they get even more dodgy, they will start to reverse the flow of electrons. ( i think thats right ), well anyway if this happens you bugger up all the electrics.

Would do good to change it.
