Panel Filter

Featured Replies

What does it look like and how easy is it to replace? I'm up for a service tomorrow but don't know whether to just get them to replace it or buy a green panel one for 30 odd quid. I know there's been many posts on Green panel filters etc but.....

I just don't have any idea as to what I am looking for under the bonnet. :o

Any idea on what extra i'd be getting charged for the filter and fitting?

Service is coming in at £175.00 (10k), I've given them a long list of things that I'd like looking at but I can't see them even looking at half of them.

Buy the GreenCotton filter and give it to the service guys to fit??

Workt doing IMO, but meny will argue no dout.

The car was serviced today. Quite pleased actually they've looked at every problem I asked about apart from the stutter. The service gent started rasping on about something to do with fuel injection so I asked him to look at VRStu's vrs website and showed him the fix. He didn't seem interested in doing the EGR fix which is quite annoying. Got the car back with mud on the driver side matt but. I'd use them again. (Martyn Beever York)

I asked for the panel filter to be changed and they've checked the air filter tab on the service schedule. I paid £11 quid for it but not sure I've had the right thing done!

I'm a little miffed at them trying to charge me £235 for the service! After specifically asking 3 times that it was £175 including VAT. Anyways with the filter it came to £187odd quid.

Can anyone upload a picture of this panel filter thing i'm meant to be looking for!

The air filter is inside the big triangular-ish shaped box top right of the engine bay.... The one behind the battery..... A couple of screws hold the lid in place. If you open it up the filter inside should be lovely and clean if they've changed it..... If it's mucky then you've been had!!!
