Just purchased my second Octavia, a 1.9tdi Elegance estate, 152000 miles on the clock ,51 plate registered Jan`02.Cayenne metallic and am exceptionally pleased.My previous was a 1.9tdi GLX `98 on an "S" plate with 116000 miles on the clock and averaged around 60mpg all the time.The new one is around the same although with a bit more grunt as 110bhp as opposed to 90bhp. After having a Landrover Discovery for many years, I didnt think I`d like going down to a Skoda, but how wrong can you be.Twice the mpg, faster, the list is endless. Long live Skoda!!!!

Hi: Welcome to Briskoda. Congrats on your new car. I had a 90 bhp 1.9TDI Ambiente Estate before the 05 Classic TDI that I have now. Good choice but the new shape model's even better. Totally different car inside and out. Try and get one when you can!

atleast Skoda's don't leak as much as LR's

Very fortunate with both my Disco`s as far as leaks.Although the first one did meet a sticky end on the M40!! The second one (as result of writing off the first!) had a leaky rear sunroof, but sorted that straight away and now it lives in North Wales with my Parents...

As for the Skoda`s the first one and this one had a few niggles, but nothing too serious (see my posts re: fuel gauge/turbo problems) and after saying I`d never drive anything other than a Landy after the Landy accident/write off, I`m happy to say I`ll probably now never own anything other than a Skud!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup:
