Hello to all, been a proud Fabia Vrs owner for 2 weeks now, found this forum very usefull when choosing this car, thanks to all who take time out to post on this site.

Car is fantastic to drive, but I was hoping for better mpg, trip computer claims 63mpg but actual is 53mpg. Are all the trip computers over optimistic? With todays fuel prices I really want to maximise the fuel economy, any ideas?

Yes, the trip computers are all over-optomistic, but yours seems unusually bad. Your actuals aren't too bad for the engine though.

Try the "remaining mileage" mode; it seems pretty accurate (which is odd since the mpg mode is optomistic, using the same inputs).

My Fabia did an actual 38-40mpg... so count yourself lucky!

They are optimistic but I'm not going to work mine out as I prefer to keep living the dream..
