cruise control instructions?

Featured Replies

righty, got CC fitted to the 06 fabia vrs, just got a few questions...

to set it just drive at the speed you want, just reach the desired speed and press the button on the end of the stalk. then use the + or - to change the set speed. This i have worked out (i think :D )

to cancel it, just press the brake, change gear, or click the switch to the right.

now i wasnt given any instructions or owt so, is this all there is to it? can/does it do anything more than that?

i know its a silly question, but just like to check!

Yea sounds about right. If you do the - it cuts teh cruise control out. + will increase and hold the speed. Enjoy!

Also with the cruise on at 60mph lets say, you need to overtake ... accelerate to 70 using the throttle... then release throttle and the car will slow down back to 60 and maintain this speed.

Which is cool :)

If yoiu brake or declutch hit resume (res) and the speed will go back up to the last set speed.

Slide the main switch accross usually. Hence RES being marked on it.

It's the little slider that also turns cc off. Slide it to the left to resume the last speed you set, slide to the right to turn cc off. Hold it to the left to increase speed.

Ahh i knew if you held it it accelerated but didnt know about the RES

Mint :D

RES is weird feeling when you drop to say 50 and you where set at 70 and in a low gear. The car just bolts up to speed, like being on a roller coaster with no control.

Pretty sure the instructions are in the owners manual.

And any person fitting cruise who is worth their money would have given you a full run down on how the system works ;)

yup, i know!

thats main dealers for you!

however did get it installed for same price as i have read others do it for, so not that bad!

had to fit the rubber trim around the ignition back into place though which i wasnt impressed with, as its a simple tidy up thing and only took me 2 secs.

but quite like the CC, and regarding the 'res' button, to recall the previous setting you need to hold it for a few seconds, not reccomended in traffic mind, esp if you had it set high!
