Feels like my '98 felicia 1.3 is missing some power!

Featured Replies

I was wondering wether this is normal or not....the manual that came with my felly says that the "top speed" is 151km/h....but for some reason i can't seem to get it to go over 139.x km/h:eek: :thumbdwn:....could there be something wrong with the engine?.

the car has next to no mileage on it only 88thousand something kilometers...and it always runs like a steady clock.

any tips?

and btw i was thinking about investing in a K&N air filter for my felicia...but according to K&N inc. they don't have one for the 1.3 98 version...but there IS one for the 97 1.3....would it fit/or would it do as good?

isn't anyone in the mood for replying?

When trying your top speed run, was it windy? If you were driving into the wind the little 1.3 may not have the grunt to pull through the revs in top gear.. :(

The manufacture will always test the cars in favourable conditions.

The manufacturer's figures are always taken on a pretty new car in top tune, and often "computed speed" rather than 2-way or even 1-way runs on an actual road.

Well... on my recent trip to germany i managed to get my felly up to 95 mph! (on the autobahn with no speed limit and speed taken from gps not speedo)

95 mph = 152.88768 km/h

Just depends on the road and wind etc... they're not the most powerful engines and when going at those speeds in top gear it kind of just runs out of power completely! lol

But having said that... 139 km/h (86 mph) isn't really that fast... mine will get to that head wind or not... maybe just give her a good service and check spark plugs, coolant temperature sensor etc.

i feel really really bad not getting my felicia over 139 on a great road without any winds or anything....getting ran off by a HUGE Jeep with the max speed of around 144km/h SUCKS!

especially when you have a friend who bought an old subaru impreza for just about the same price...and he leaves both you AND the Huge jeep behind while going at 160km/h...

that only tells me that i'm gonna buy an airplane next time ^^

oh and btw....i've maxed my felicia out at 199 or 200km/h on my way Downhill....wich is ~124 mph....and it was damn scary...i felt like the car was about to fall apart...
