Fabia groaning back brakes

Featured Replies

I know this has been brought up before, but has anyone yet found a definite cure for groaning back brakes on a Fabia when reversing? Skoda dealers know all about the fault but seem unable to cure it. All they do is dismantle the rear disc brakes, clean them and put them back. The noise soon returns. It can get so bad that it frightens the onlookers in a car park! It certainly doesn't do a lot for Skoda's improved image.

Never had a problem with rear discs at all. Are they warped? Do you sit with your foot on the brakes at the lights?

Tis a common one.

As mentioned before a mod kit with rubber dampers was available from Audi but the kit has since been discontinued.

I did notice however the other day whilst working on a VR6 Golf they also had the same rubber dampers fitted, looking into it again.

Tis a common one.

Yes, my vRS Fabia has started sounding like a loud distorted foghorn when reversing in car-parks now. Never did it on the old Y reg TDi Fabia though - strange...

Off to dealer this week about it, any more advice/cure welcome though.

yeah Gayles Fabia does this too. hopefully find a solution some how
