Cup holders

Featured Replies

I'm really happy with my 03 L & K Octavia appart from the cup holders. Does any one else think they are a bit rubbish? has any one managed to put different ones in?

Tom

The one in the Elegance is well rubbish; what's needed is something to hold a mineral water bottle upright and stop it rolling about the passenger footwell!

No mate; the Elegance & L&K have a different facia, with the stereo head higher, a cubby about twice that depth, then the Climate controls where your heater ones are. The cup holder is back beside the handbrake, and can't hold a water bottle upright.

sorry, was refering to Speedy, You can with some butchery fit the cup holders of a polo into the front of an Octavia, as per photo. Others may fit if they use a Din mount.

Ah right; I thought you were asking if that was the standard Elegance/L&K setup.

Not only is it not; you'd have to relocate the stereo head lower to fit that arrangement and not foul the gear lever.

and you still have to be careful of the gear lever, there isn't a huge amount of clearance, there is enough just. It does make a positive difference mounting a cup holder in the dash though.

Quickshift kit maybe help?

Hi Guys

Thanks for the feedback sorry it's taken me a while to reply but i only go on briskoda weekends. Those polo holders look good but i would have to change the layout alot. I was thinking of getting a new stereo i suppose that would be the time to try to move things about a bit. But i'm sure it's going to be more hassle than it's worth.

Just a guess Ebay or breakers yards maybe?

Don't know if this is the same with anybody elses, but my Y plate (01) Octy Elegance doesn't have a cup holder in the front at all. All that is next to the handbrake is a pen tray, that jsut collects dust, and other bits of assorted crap that I throw in there.

Would be really interested in the polo cup holders if I could get hold of them. Which year of Polo are they out of?

mine has the said polo ones, but i found that it knocked the outside facia of the head unit off, so it takes abit of messing about to get it just rite!

As long as it's deep enough to retain a flip or clamshell phone, it would be more useful than the stock cupholder.

Do you have the part number for them? If so, could you post it here. Cheers.

Cheers!

I have the pop-up "holder" underneath the armrest in my 04 Octavia Elegance, but never use it as my elbow would send any drink flying.

I did find that wedging a water bottle in the seat adjustment lever of the passenger seat works ok, and cans of drink can be wedged in the door pocket.
