Fabia Vrs SE window tint question

Featured Replies

Well I've done some side by side comparisons with my dads (silver) vrs.

As you can see ringed area in under bonnet picture of mine is indeed black.

Have had a good look round body work and included other pictures showing

areas of detail, a very thourough job.

So, to sum it up, Skoda take standard black vrs (Jan 05) strip apart, re-spray

in race-blue, replace interior with full leather trim, sprayed callipers red-

Used as promotional SE, based at Milton Keynes (Skoda UK head office)-

2007 production Vrs SE goes to production - released as run of 1000

Promotional one then reduntant, sold on.

Thanks to 'skudmissile'. As an aside, anyone venture what it would cost a customer

to have that re-spray and interior upgrade?:)

Is the black under the bonnet a flat black or a metallic black? does it sparkle?

It just seems strange that they would use a car with a £500 ectra metallic paint finish as apposed to a standard car without the extra option.

If its a flat black i am guessing the car came from the factory unfinished and was later finished in the uk with leather paint and tinted windows.

If its a metallic black then its simply a black vrs that was re-sprayed.

Cost..... your looking at a couple of grand at least for the interior and the paint job.

Skudmissile, yes whilst having some grub I was thinking the same thing.

Its an 'unfinished' sort of black, like a primer, was greasy too. Difficult to

describe, more of an absence of paint than a describable finish.

Wonder if it was requisitioned by Skoda and a (due to be black one) was

plucked from production 'un-finished', as you say, would make more sense

than going over an already finished/laquered etc car.

Cheers.:)

Either way, you do not have the stutter :)

Yes that sounds like the standard finish to the panels before they are painted.

So far we have gathered,

It was an unfinished car plucked from the production line then shipped over to the uk where it was made into the SE prototype.

Not bad for a set of armchair experts

I've gotta say, I quite like the different coloured engine bay.

I've gotta say, I quite like the different coloured engine bay.

I was just thinking that myself:D

Which would mean it would have the wrong bumpers, wrong wheels, wrong seats, wrong engine, wrong exhaust, wrong door cards, wrong dash plastics, wrong ride height, wrong headlining, wrong sunvisors, wrong courtesy light surround, wrong door pins (number and colour), wrong steering wheel, wrong mats, and no sill protectors. May have missed something, but I don't think so! :D

Err Pedal covers, How on earth could you forget them:rofl:

Not bad at all, thanks very much for assist. Still no reply from Skoda, but I think we've pretty much covered everything.

Probably get an e-mail from them saying its an unroadworthy prototype

that went missing on the way to the crusher:eek::rofl:

cheers.

apogee, gear stick:rolleyes:

Everything will be fine until you lift the boot carpet and find red paint :D :D

Absolutely right, some documentation would be nice in the event of me

selling it on.

As suggested, had a look under boot carpet, some pics for those interested.

As before, comparison shots are of my dads silver vrs.

More evidence that it came to Skoda from production line 'unfinished' for make-over.

Also of interest, the little 'anchor' loops are unfinished too, are they colour coded

on other peoples, as I see my dads are silver.

edit : photoshop loaded a*se about face, makes more sense read from bootom to top:)

If you look at the sticker in the boot floor the paint code has been felt tip pen'd in ;)

My only consern with having all this unfished metal would be on how you stand with the 12 year body warrenty. Might be worth asking skoda about that too.

Shouldn't be a problem as the platform is galvanised, you'll have a shock if you remove a front wheelarch liner on a standard car - only thin primer.

That is indeed a unique car, VRSE number -1.

Recieved an E-mail from Skoda today!

Quite interesting, mentions new Vrs launch as well.

Only problem is I don't know how to put the E-mail on here.

If anyone knows how to do this (Fordfan Skudmissile?) and edit my E-mail address

from it before posting, would you be kind enough to PM me and I'll E-mail

it (in confidence) to you, or anyone else who is willing/able, cheers.

A new vRS in 2010 then. :P

Just read the whole thread and I am amazed at the lengths Skoda went with your car!

Might make your cars value go up abit :thumbip:

Just don't lose that email, print it out and keep it with your service records.

 Cheers, have copied (twice:O)

Interesting they seemed to confirm 2010 vRS release, have not mentioned it

over there (fabia 2007 section) as I fear there 'flaming' of the subject is always

of 'Burger King' preportions.

thats pretty impressive, it makes your car very unique, i doubt it will affect the value to a regular person but an enthusiast may pay more to get it being a prototype.
