Battery Light Dashboard

Featured Replies

On my dash the battery light gets brighter the higher the revs, I was told this could be something to do with the alternator belt but the belt seems fine to me.

Anyone know what this could mean?

What about the voltage regulator..?

What about the voltage regulator..?

How would I go about checking this?

Measure the voltage across the battery terminals with the engine running, should be around 14.5 Volts.

I suspect that the diode pack has gone, which will mean a new alternator.

What engine? and has it got power steering?

1.3MPI, No Powersteering.

Should be able to get one for a tenner from the scrappy

If the engine is running the battery light shouldn't be on, let alone get brighter.

Alternator has died I would expect.
