You did what!!!!!!

Featured Replies

Came home from work the other day, missus said iv used your car today

'Oh right' i said 'where abouts did you go' She replied 'Only up town'

'Buy anything nice'

'Only a top for work,i parked in the multi storey'

(this is where i cringed)

'I v scuffed the front of your car'

'No, my splitter'

I rushed out to the car park only to find a big gouge on the right hand side of me splitter

I knew it wasnt gunna last long,so guys if you've got one or thinking of getting one, take this iinto consideration ,or hide your keys or something ,bless her she didnt mean to,just a bit gutted its only been on for a week :(

Right wheres your spare keys luv!:D

This is the reason i didn't get one.It would end up on the floor when the snow comes again.

I catch mine on a regular basis but it's underneath so you can't see the scuffs! Worth it for the more aggresive look I think...

Kick seven shades of 5hite outta her, she won't do it again.....trust me

Il have to see how it goes with that splitter ,its a shame coz it smartens up the front no end

Any more then ill have to get rid of it,or get another one;)

I lcant tell her off too much......she makes a cracking potatoe bake

Sorry to hear that mate, i have one and like you say makes alot of difference to the front end! But my missus dont drive so it's just me that has to be careful! Having said that i hit a rabbit on the way to work the other day and when i parked up the splitter was hanging off on one side  but all fixed now with some more screws! :)

The splitter is a great mod but it is vulnerable, I'm off to Seat in the morning to pick up No 2 tomorrow. Had mine on about 9 months now and it's looking worse for wear. High speed bumps are the biggest pain :thumbdwn:

Yep,

Mine is very much the same, Some speed bumps and also some depressions in the road if hit at the wrong speed can make it catch. I guess at the price though it must be considered a consumable!!

When it starts to look too tatty I'll swap it.

Oh btw hit a squirrel with it and it stayed on ok so the fixing were the right size.

Cheers

I've had mine on now for a few weeks, and caught one very high speed speed bump outside the local stealers at Meadowbank, and another big catch on a low draingrid.

Sadly, I did mount mine too far forward *ahem :o* so it is more prone to slightly scraping. But I also put a self tapper inbetween every "ridge" below the bumper, and two long woodscrews with washers in the centre vertical fins. Which I found actually grips the bumper plastic better than the self tappers did!

As all say, pound for pound, tis the best cosmetic improvement around surely?

Good heads up i was gonna buy mine after i got back from holiday. Are you all running standard suspension or is only likley to catch if the car is lowered?

Standard height, If I ever lower it the splitter will go :thumbdwn:

ouch! Still she'll make it up to you, especially if you were acting kind and understanding when she told you (despite thinking of going postal on the inside!)......

Not that I have one but, you could look at it as a bumper saver for £20 a time.

Thank god mine can,t drive.................................yet

Any one got a pic of one off these splitters please cos i aint seen one

iv got standard setup and it stil catches!

iv not got a pic of mine yet but this is sum other lads car if your not sure wot one looks like

Mine's been on about 6 months now I think and it's still fine. I've caught it a couple of times, but it's got about 900 screws holding it on, so it's fine.

I must admit, I was slightly embarrassed when I crashed into a kerb whilst parking outside summerfield!:o

i would love to put the splitter on mine but i catch stones on the road as it is :D
