2006 VRS, 42 years old, man and wife same age, no convictions, Insurance quote £276 with a voluntary excess of £250, protected bonus and legal protection.

Is that any good and can anyone advise as to a good firm to use?

Cheers

(apologies if there are already threads on this but I am lazy and can't be bothered to search)

Thats not bad, i am with MoreThan, and its 345 with all the gubbins.

Im 25 no convictions etc.

mine is just over 1000 with 2 years ncb :( no convictions or any thing either and im 21

Id say that was V good lol

Christ!

I suppose postcode lottery makes a difference...

I'm with Budget - 42, No convictions, 4 years NCB, no mods to car, 30,000 miles per year £231 this year for myself and my wife (similar details). So I e-mailed for an update now I'm doing some stuff to the car;

Suspension lowered <50mm and aftermarket dampers

Front splitter

17" Alloys

Rear ARB

OEM Sat-Nav

£640!!!!

And the drivetrain is completely stock - no remap.

im with brentrace and i pay 631 with a remap and can mod anything as long as it do not make it more powerful im 23 5years ncb with admiral it was gonna be 390 just normal and no mods i would shop around

I'm £190 with priviledge, 35 5 years n/c and g/f with similar history.

Worth shopping around mate, i was with rac last year for 200 ish and this year the renewal was just short of 300,, insurance is weird eh

Chris Knott for us with all mods declared :) (£320 ish each).

£520 with MoreThan with protected No Claims

Im 21, missus is 24, i have 4yrs NCD and a non-fault accident. She has 3yrs NCD

For the record, i tried Brentacre, they wanted £550, and could mod anything, as long as it didnt increase engine power, but they wouldnt protect my NCD...

it sounds like i am paying to much for my insurance

£393 ,43y/o, full NCB, no convictions , 12k a year , but i did have an accident 3 years ago, so maybe i'm still paying for that :(

£300 with no n.c.b* and 18,000 miles per year. A couple of "mainstream" places refused to quote, and I wound up with Elephant. It will be interesting to see what they're like if I ever do need them...

* I have 10 years + ncb on another car but am not going down the two-cars-on-the-same-ncb route again as you always get shafted on one of them... Come renewal I'll be looking into "portfolio" insurance to see if that works out cheaper...

a grand a year with no noclaims with more than and a remap! and being 20 lol

helps if you work for them though to take advantage of staff discount ;)
