When you buy a car which is new to you, it takes a while to get used to the noises it makes. Like the mouse in the glove box ( air con :P).

Our high milage Octy was full of them. But one got steadily louder. And louder. And eventually I took it to the local bloke who's not too heavy on the pocket usually, who diagnosed a wheel bearing shot. Fair nuff. Not big money, he said. But...

Bearing had welded itself to hub, big bang:eek:...£376 inc vat, for a £20 bearing...don't put it off, get it done now!:(
