VRS Surging, on/off boost ?

Featured Replies

I THINK I may have sorted the 17705 code troubling my brothers car. I bypassed the N249 the easy way following a guide from Vortex, and replaced the "suction jet pump" after some interesting reading also on Vortex. The car is now going really well and has not (yet!) gone back into limp mode. However, when flat out there is a slight surging that carries on throughout the rev range, almost like you drop boost then get it back then drop it again then get it back etc. Anyone help me out with this one?

Audi dealers sell the N75J.

Part number:- 034-906-283J.

They dont suit all cars, but work on most mapped ones, holds boost for longer on mine, with no surging problems etc.

If you use the search button , there are threads running about the surging hesitation problems you quote.

Is the suction spray pump a thing between the intake vacuum system and the crankcase ventilation point?

What was your reasoning behind replacing it?

How much was it from Skoda? What was it like to replace?

Sorry for all the questions.........

I have the 17705, but I replaced rather than bypassed the N249, and I still have the code. I was hoping it was a faulty N249, but I was wrong, so ther must be something else wrong in the vacuum system. I don't think I have any hose leaks, as I had a good check when I replaced the valve.
