Featured Replies

Right then Renewal time and all the fun that comes with it!!!

who's good for people like me!!!

22 years old

0 NCB due to accident with uninsured river

2 claims both non fault

10k per year

Group 16 car (Skoda Octavia VRS)

Fully Comp

Commuting but no Business usage

A Plan said no point as where going to be silly money

Chris Knott said no as owned car less than 1 year!!!

Admiral will insure for roughly 1k

Adrian Flux 2k

Direct Line 1.6k

so anyone know of any one good?

TIA

was going to say Adrian Flux but you've already tried them. Bad enough trying to get that car insured at your age let alone adding mods to it. how long you have had the car shouldn't make a difference. Keep looking was offered from £970 to £230 from swiftcover, didn't go with them due to customer service ratings, maybe try them if you're not worried about that type of thing.

Try Swift cover, they seemed to come up quite well for me.

Im 22 and Endsleigh were good for me (although mines a fabia).

Have you tried money supermarket?

have you tried an insurance comparision website to compare the quotes?

yeah ive tried a few comparison sites and admiral are the cheapest by far but annoyed as my plan was to get a good quote and get a major insurer to price match but none of them seem to even consider it.

tried tesco and they wanted over 3k!!!

ill try swiftcover but i think ill take the jump with admiral and then after a year try chris knott again.

I think that admiral quote is the best you will get as I was in a similar position last year due to an uninsured driver.

Should crush them in their uninsured cars :(

I've been going through "Lifesure" who have always managed to get close to the best price on the comparison websites AND keep the excesses low and other benefits still included. Worth a try!

^ agreed

Admiral are good for 1st time drivers. You could also try Kwik Fit.

Admiral 2006 £972 (1 fault claim from 2005)

KF - 2007 - £700 (Within a month of buying the policy my car was sideswiped by a lorry)

2008 - £640 with 2 claims

£1k for a group 16 car is pretty good though.

My Felly cost 972 to insure with Admiral when I bought it in 2006 and I had 0 years ncb.

It would have cost just over a grand to insure my Dads Honda 2002 2.0 in my name.

I usually alternate between Elephant and Direct Line

I managed to save 50% by switching to esure :), Not the I paid it, the wife did :)

Brentacre for me :) saved me hundreds.

CIS (co-operative insurance) - i went direct.

didn't come up on any of the comparison sites I tried, were cheapest, and even offset your carbon emissions.

CIS, those where the days, I p!ssed the local rep off that much he gave me a "drive

any car you own" policy :) Could do with that now :)

Swiftcover are cheap and for a reason. Their customer service is totally rubbish, I had an accident last year and it took 3 months of waiting for them to do anything. It took an extremely snooty email with some choice words to get the ball rolling. I am going to go back to brentcare or brentacre, they usually allow you mods within reason.
