How much for a 2nd hand Canon EOS 400D?

Featured Replies

I've been offered a deal on a used Canon 400D but I don't know if its any good.

Its about 8 months old, with original carp canon 18-55 lens, 2gb CF card and a

Tamron 55-200mm f4-5.6 zoom lens all for £360. So I'm paying the current new price on the body and carp lens but getting the card (£15) and Lens (£150) on top.

Any good?

Think you summed it up perfectly. Depends if you want the extra lens or not. I just upgraded my 350D to a 40D at Jessops and haggled £50 of the price of it and a grip, so perhaps you can buy new and squeeze the vendor for say a free 2gb card or some such.

Just found this…………even cheaper!!

I've just corrected the zoom lens info :o

Having seen the difference between my compact camera and 400D photos of the same things, the picture quality is so much better and I'll want the zoom lens. that's what makes the deal tempting.

Adding a lens to the new camera will add another £100 at least

Yeah, there's a previous thread on here about it. £306, so £360 for a card and a zoom lens seems alright.

It's dear as you will see the tamron lens can be had for £60 and canon still have a cashback deal till the end of June.

I checked that site for the camera but that lens is much less than I thought it would be which makes a big difference, now £360 vs £400ish for new :rubchin:

Not a rip-off but not the bargain I thought it was. I can wait.

He's also tempting me with a discounted 'everyday' lens Canon EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM at UK Camera Price Buster but I think the wife would have a fit - she prefers my hobbies to be cheap.
