Extended Warranty

Featured Replies

Hi

My vRS is coming up to 3 years old so I am thinking of extending the warranty & AA cover for another year. Has anyone here purchased an extended warranty, and how much did you pay?

Thanks in advance

Rob

I have and bought it from Warranty Works and paid about £200 for the year. I can't say how good they are as I have not needed to claim yet!!!

I had one with CSMA about 5 years ago. At the time it cost around £180 per year and covered all mechanical and electrical items. It also covered any item which failed the MOT (i.e. would cover brakes if they failed the MOT test). I claimed a few times with no hassles. Just took the car to a local garage, gave the garage the details of the waranty and they phoned the company and sorted the work. Will definately get another one out when my current car is over 3 years old.

My furby is just over 3 years old and although I didn't extend the warranty, I did take out 2 years Skoda RAC Assistance for £145 which I thought was a good deal.

I have the Skoda Approved extended warranty and Europe-wide assistance for my Octavia 4X4. The cover looks to be more extensive than that provided by Warranty Direct whose levels of cover available vary with age of vehicle. The cost was £350 last year without Skoda Assistance, and £369 this year with. The Fabia should be cheaper than that.

Quoted £299 with Skoda Assistance or £249 without by my local Skoda dealer. Not bad, just need to check that the warranty is the same as the manufacturer warranty.

Same as Skoda one but doesn't cover "water ingress" and "electrical wiring faults" for some reason!

I had the extended warrenty (not covered now) and it came in handy when my turbo expired.
