Yet another satisfied Seat Surgeons customer

When my wife's Felicia was replaced with a 2007 Fabia vRS early this year, I decided that the light gey seat covers needed to be replaced with something smarter and more practical as soon as I could. I remembered seeing photos of Harry_vRS's Fabia which was retrimmed by Seat Surgeons back in 2005, so I did some research on the various trim options members had chosen when getting their cars retrimmed by that company. I decided that I wanted black leather with black stitching, vRS logos on the seats, ventilated panels on the cushions and seat backs, and leather trim on the door cards. Having placed an order, I had to wait a very long month until I could combine a visit to Seat Surgeons with returning MIL home to Yorkshire a couple of weeks ago. I dropped the car off at 0815 and I received a call from Paul - the MD - at 1210 to let me know it was ready.

I expected the seats to be uncomfortable to sit on when hot but this hasn't been the case, even when temperatures exceeded 80°F recently. Perhaps the fact that the car is silver helps it stay cooler than a darker colour. Nor have we had any problems with lack of seat grip compared with the original nylon covers.

The photos below really don't do justice to the standard of workmanship. I now get real pleasure from the interior of the car as well as when driving it. SWMBO is pleased that she can put her work bags and laptop on the back seat rather than in the boot, and we don't have to worry about our 2 dogs marking the upholstery either when they are in the car. (They sit on towels or blankets).

In sum, SWMBO and I are dead chuffed with the trim! :D

The Seat Surgeons at York now have a new website which gives details of various trim options. It still doesn't appear to be ranked by Google so I have posted the link below for ease of reference.

Seat Surgeons - Automotive Leather Specialists - Home

Stunning! Looks like the original leather I have in the 06, in fact so much so I'm not sure if Seat Surgeons didn't retrim that one ;)

Do you mind if I ask how much the job was? I may call them as I don't want the door panels done and their 'new' site is somewhat limited and no longer mentions costings :(

That looks fantastic

And the quality looks first class

Love it

As I said in a previous thread, I saw this in the 'flesh' as it had just been done - looks fabulous I must say :)

Looking good there Denis :D

Wow, that looks superb

Very nice, how much :D

Quality job, stunning.

Lovely job that Denis.

Looks as good as, if not better than the genuine Skoda re-fit :)

Probably my favourite out of all the Fabia leather retrims on here... and it's the most understated!

I really wish I could afford to get this done....

Does look great Denis!!

However, as I say with all these aftermarket leather retrims - I'd like to see the top perforated panel as solid leather and the vRS logo stitched into that. Still, a minor detail ;)

Thanks for all the nice comments. :o As mentioned elsewhere, Seat Surgeons have an offer on until the end of the month. The price for normal leather is £780 or £800 for Nappa, both inclusive of VAT, for cash payment only. Seat Surgeons don't have the facility for payment by credit card and most of the work they do is for the motor trade. Side air bags may add to the price as special stitching is involved. The standard price prior to Nappa becoming available was £795 plus VAT, ie £934, but the best advice I can give is to contact Paul on 0844 800 7089 to discuss the specifics of what you want and what offers might be available at the time.

nice one, looks top quality :)

So is yours standard or Nappa leather?

Standard leather. Nappa would have been £300 extra when I placed my order but Paul has managed to find a new source and drop the price dramatically. However, I don't know what the normal price will be once this month's special offer ends. Incidentally, I discussed Nappa with Paul and I think I chose the right leather for general wear and tear resistance - but I would love to see pictures of Nappa when someone has their car done.

That does look stunning. I have those awful blue seats which show every mark. I don't think that price is too bad either, considering the end result.

Edit - apologies - replied to this old thread in error instead of the one that linked to it. Sorry to resurrect an old post, what a plonker.
