Fabia Alarm

Featured Replies

Had my TDI PD 100 for 6 months now. Recently my Daughter moved into a house with rather narrow street. On two occasions my alarm has set off whilst parked outside. This has never happened before and doesn' t outside in my drive. Could it be just a windy street, Cars going by (though haven't noticed any) or has anyone any other suggestions. Does the Fabia tend to have a sensitive alarm. It don't arf make a din!!

Perhaps someone's messing with it until you disable it?

Yep I wondered that too Basil but it is a fairly quiet street. I used the key to manually lock the car (presume that disables it) and it was okay.

I live on a narrow terraced street and the alarm on mine has never triggered (that I'm aware of, anyway)

Mine went off for no particular reason once or twice when I first got it; I now make a habit of closing the vents in the dash and it hasn't happened since (although this may be entirely coincidental). I believe that a double press on the remote locking button activates the locking and alarm but not the internal sensors, so you could also try this.

Nope the alarm will activate off the door lock also. Two blips on the remote will deactivate the dead locks and interior monitoring.

Thanks to you guys for your info. Can't understand unless I got a mouse in there..lol.. I'll try the closing of the vent thing and then the double click to see which works. Damn nuisance these intermittant things.

Does that mean I can leave the windows slightly open if it's parked in the sun(if we get any)?

Yeah no problem at all if you want to walk home :-)

Though by your location, you would appear to be OK

Thanks very much. I have wind deflectors fitted so you can't tell if they are only open a inch or so, just enough to let the 40 degree heat out.

Does my car have an alarm or anything fitted? I got my car a year ago and all that happened was we changed the name on the insurance, but I dont know if it has anything fitted to it.

It is a Fabia Classic Reg W
