04 Fabia VRS Service Indicator

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have just trawled through most of the forums to help me with the above. Unfortunately i cannot get a conclusive answer that i really want.

I have an 04 Fabia VRS with 59999 miles on it. I purchased from local garage with approx 56,000 on it. It had timing belt, oil change service, tyres etc before i collected it. What i want to do though is carry out everthing ( i.e a full inspection service at 60,000 miles ) and get it back into line with the proper servicing schedules, basically as if it had just came out the factory. I know its not due an oil change but i generally change the oil every 5k in all my cars.

What i need help with though is resetting the damn service reset indicator. I have tried what it said in the handbook but i think the handbook is for a different model so it not working.

Bearing in mind the servive indicator IS NOT displaying OIL or INSP how, and, can i reset it when i carry out the service at 60K. Well almost 60K.

I have fully registered version 409.1 of VAG COM if that helps too.

Thank you in advance and sorry to bring up old topic. I wish it was like the Citroen that displayed how long it had to go to the next service.

Regards.

If you have VAG COM then its

17 - Instrument Cluster

10 - Adaptation

Channel 02

Reset to 0.

Thanks Lummox,

Does that reset both the OIL and INSP intervals?

Or do you have to perform the adapation twice?

Regards.

It resets it all.

Excellent Lummox, Cheers.

Do you know of the correct procedure to do it via the trip knob on the dash because when i try it nowt happens.

I try:

turn off ignition

push in trip knob

turn ignition on

This is the procedure in the book but F all happens. I wondered if it was only possible when the service indicators were actually displayed.

Regards

Can anyone advise:

Is it only possible to reset the service indicators once they have appeared on the dash?

Mine only reset once the spanner appeared, on the dash, carried out the above trip mileage reset button system, and it cleared, then once service was actually done, it was reset for the correct service interval, I 10k from last reset

ie:- you get the spanner or oil service indicator 10k after using the trip method to reset

Hello to all,

I have a Fabia VRS 02 and 4 days go when i turn on the engine in the point that displays the kilometers, it writes "Service Oil" for 15 seconds , then stops and the kilometers are be displayed again. My car has about 105000 Km i did service on 94000km on Fabia agency Service Station.

1. Is it possibel to reset this indicator without vag-com (because i haven't)

2. If no is it safe to make 8000 km more, before i go for service ? or the car will be locked after some km?

Thank you very much

Am i misreading your quote or were you able to reset it a second time without the spanner appearing first.

1. Yes. The procedure is in the Owner's Manual near the front. Look for Service Interval Display in the Instruments and Indicator/Warning Lights section then follow the instructions where it says: Models with fixed service intervals (QG0). This is on page 17 of the 2005 English version of the Manual.

2. The car won't be 'locked' if it doesn't have a service or oil change when due. The oil change interval is 15,000 km or 1 year, whichever comes first, so yours would be due an oil change at 109,000 km. You really should get it done then.

Well my 04 VRS has never ever displayed the service indicator at all....any ideas?

I've attached the reset procedure if needed:
