Quick wash with AutoGlym

Featured Replies

After putting a scrape down the nearside from an over hanging bush last Thursday (thanks council for the brilliant roadside maintence, pillocks). i had an eye sore of a scratch (thankfully not down to the lacquer) from the bush.

So i gave the car a quick was down with the jetwash to remove any dirt. washed it with AG shampoo, went over the car with the Autoglym dark color stuff (first time ive used it) and carefully worked over the scratched area. same again over some other minor scratches. then worked over the car with some collinite wax and later on with some autoglym aqua wax. the collinite worked well as the car was hot and the wax just rolled over the car instead of getting lumpy.

here are some pics.

I've used AG Shampoo, and I thought it rubbish tbh.

All the other AG products I have used are first rate though.

what do you use then?

what do you use then?

If I'm feeling flush, it's Turtle Wax nano-tech stuff, but usually it's Halfords own stuff ( in the blue tub )

But tbh my cars never get really dirty, so I don't need super dooper stuff anyway.

I've got a big massive bottle of AG shampoo yet unopened. I have read that it doesn't foam much but it gets the job done well, and the lack of foaming means less suds to get rid of.

Foam is not always your best friend in the wash process.............a nice slick shampoo can in many ways work better......

Good work smstext...........

cheers baker. next wash will either just be a jetwash (to remove dirt) followed by shampoo or (as i hate water marks) a quick wipe over at the end with a microfibre and a very light coat of AG aquawax which doesnt take any longer than using a water remover cloth of some kind etc.

i envisage it to take next time about 30 mins as dirt (apart from the dust that has now stuck it self to the car and the flies) to be much of a problem.

ive got some AG insect remover which is good stuff, but found if you got enough collinite on the flies will drop off as they cannot weld themselves to the car.

One quicky normally i just use AQ aquawax on the wheels (as it cheats to remove water marks and waxes at same time). Anyone else used collinte on their alloys as ive done so this time and am interested what its like further down the road when it comes to washing the car etc?
