MFD2 CD updated firmware.

Featured Replies

I read somewhere that it is possible to update the firmware in the MFD 2 to include postcode search. Is ths possible and does anyone have a scooby how to do it. otherwise the sat nav is possibly the most u/s pos sat nav i have used recently.

A new 2007/2008 nav disc should do it.

But it only has 4 or 5 digit postcodes (basically this is a quick way to get town info and narrows down street search to list, but you still need to confirm street name and give a house number etc)

NW1 6xx etc

When any different version to the last disc is inserted it first uploads the relevant firmware upgrades (or downgrades)

ie if you put a 2008 disc in it will run 2008 firmware and mapping, put a 2004 disc in and it will drop the included 2004 firmware into the unit.

I have just upgraded from 2007/2008 CD to 2008/2009 CD and no upgrade took place...

When I went from 2004 to 2007 CD it actually displayed a update progress bar and took around 5 minutes?

Can someone with 08/09 confirm the software version they have

Was an upgrade noticable after you inserted the CD?

For example, did it show a progress bar ?

Your data is completly different to that displayed on mine, which makes me think that it hasn't update properly.... which may also be why i am getting A roads pronouced as B roads?

Yes, the progress bar first flushed old firmware, then installed new firmware.

I am not sure what the difference is, but my MFD2 is designated 1Z0035194A (with an A)

The disc is also TMC enabled, if that helps.

No update happened on mine when upgraded from 2006/7 TMC to latest disc. Still got rubbish 4/5 postcode search and tomtom on my N95 is faster!

What CD did you have previously - suspect it wasn't the 07/08

Do you have the "A" Road "B" Road problem

Only used it today for Sat Nav, and yes it is screwed!!

I called Teleatlas and they are aware of problem. They offered to take my email address and send me a new CD when it is fixed.
