Rear Sunblind - Discontinued

Featured Replies

Now that I have the side blinds I thought I'd have a look at getting the rear roller blind only to be told by my dealer that it's been discontinued!

Anyone got any ideas why or if they know of a dealer that stocks one?

I reckon you will be lucky to find a dealer that actually stocks them unless they ordered one that someone cancelled.

Try OE Sunshades Ltd | www.oesunshades.com

i have had my car 2 months i think now and i had the side blinds and rear roller one in, thats palmers skoda of watford

try giving them a ring 01923 224422, i know they said if i wanted another luggage hook i could ring them and order it and they can send it to me etc.

something i forgot to order with my car when i ordered it, but then found i didnt really need it anyway, however if i could get the side windows and the rear at a good price i might re consider.

Not helpful at all but I've got one. :P

Must admit, mine is great for the kids in the back during the hotter days. Does its job ok. Prefer the roller blind to the ones that actually go on the glass itself.

My motor is gonna come with sunset glass: does anyone have this and STILL have the shades? My dealer said it ain't worth it but I don't know in the real world just how good the glass is. Looks nice but are the shades an overkill?

I've got sunset glass in my vRS, and it does help a lot. However, there are still days when my little one complains that the sun is too bright. At the moment, I've got one of those blinds with rubber suckers, and that appears to do the trick.

I'd like to get the Skoda blinds, but as it's a company motor, I don't really see the point.

If you do get them, I don't think you'll regret it.

Bagpuss.

There are many roller sunblinds for tail glass in car parts shops and even in supermarket. Price is so low that Skoda probably doesn't see the point of offering them anymore. My car came with rear roller sunblind as standard. The friend of mine with lower spec Octy (Elegance) didn't get it. So we went together and got one of those in supermarket. They sell all kinds, shapes and sizes. Can't remember what size we got at that point, but before going we took exact measures. The price was something arround 15 euros (12 pounds). Took us 20 minutes to install. It looks great and it covers bigger area then OEM sunblind in my car. If I had to buy one now, I'd never go for Skoda one. Aftermarket one is lot cheaper, good quality and covers bigger area.

I guess the price of aftermarket ones made Skoda give up making OEM ones. The both work the same way.

Steve have you tried to order it as a replacement part instead of an accessory?

Get pimp tints Steve.

Cool as :rofl::rofl:

How Little is your kid??

just a suggestion but could you not squeeze her into the "jumbo" box:)

i use to have a halfrauds one in the back of my car which worked a treat in my astra and rover and in fact stayed up all year round. it was great for reducing headlight glare from behind. my rover had the window pull down cheap blinds but the way the 3 door 200 series were at the time it fitted perfectly and looked like tints rather than blinds.

I've been trying to source one of these as well. No joy from Skoda UK, so as I have family who spend much of the year in other european countries, I'll see if it can be sourced elsewhere!
