Too many options is it really worth spending over £200 on a Jabba kit?

Any one got opions on the carnono?

I have the ABD Racing one and cannot fault it, "BUT", with the e-bay special cai and other mods I did run 238 bhp on reliable rollers.

If you want one of the e-bay ones then send an e-mail to John at [email protected], tell him its come from Gerry at Briskoda and he will do a deal a lot cheaper for the same ones he sells on e-bay at a higher price.

The filter as supplied is sufficient, but they do benefit from a better filter such as Green ones.

I have a Carbonio and I love the noise.

Vote for the ebay one here. Sounds lovely, but will change the filter at some point.

I vote for Cabonio , the sound is  superb Psstttttttt

Mmmm

Carbonio all the way mate sounds blooming great

I wounder if the Carbonio is as loud as the metal equivalent?

I know metal conducts sound well but i dunno about carbon fibre.

lol do i dare change my jabba plan for carbonia? i do like the jabba look thou,, a big blue cone :orb_raisi

i have just had the same problem about which CAI to go for cheapest good quality one is the ABD one IIRC.

However... i compromised and saved myself about £80.

have bought the full ebay kit for £40 and then went to merlinmotorsports website and ordered an itg filter and samco connecting hose to go on the end of it. (cost about £60)

ITG are very good filters that dont require cleaning and all in it cost me about £100 delivered. Bargain!

where are these ebay ones?

link?

carbonia or jabba hmm

where are these ebay ones?

link?

Please read post five (5) in this thread.

My son has the ABD one on his MK4 Golf

But to be fair it is a superb looking kit , but just not as loud as the Carbonio , not THAT much in it , but you can hear Carbonio`s coming , but not so much my son`s

The stock airbox is best in many respects. Depends if you want to impress lads or actually benifit the car, if the latter I doubt you'll find improvement. Your EXISTING one is CAI, with a better filtration than the aftermarket ones.

i rate the injen very highly, easy fitting, great sound and great performance

i fitted my ebay pipe and my itg filter a few days ago. sounds good and you can really hear the standard dump valve. cant beat it for the price i payed for it all.

True. But the Carbonio does sound nice! :D

I'm tempted to get a Carbonio CAI now after reading all the threads. Only a couple of things I don't know yet that are putting me off:

There have been people warning of a risk of water getting into the intake. However, I haven't found any threads that show people actually reporting it having happened. I'm guessing this means that it's not a real issue?

Some threads show fitting instructions which show that you have to take the battery out and take a plastic cover off from behind the light (?). The battery goes back in (obviously) but the plastic cover is never put back. Not so bothered about the battery thing, but is it necessary to remove the plastic cover altogether?

Also, for cleaning / replacing the filter, do you have to pull the battery out every time?

Other than the above there seems to be nothing but praise for the system, so I'm very tempted.

I had to take the battery out and the headlight to get it fitted but I have xenons and they're quite deep.

dont need to take the battery out just fit the pipe down the side and i took the front arch liner off and fitted the filter to the pipe from there. no major probs from water on my old kit being low down in the front.

Hmm. All confidence inspiring stuff! I feel a purchase coming on!
