Dont they cost an arm and a leg?

A bicycle shop may sell that size

Have you checked??

Surely if you were desperate for a tool on a Saturday morning, one that you've already struggled to find you'd expect to pay a little more - But to answer your question, no I don't think they are.

You can also buy a socket adaptor that has a 7mm Hex - That's what I use.

Something like this is your other option -

Also available from Halfrauds for half a kidney.

£3.99 ??? Champion !!!! -- I was expecting £15 +

£3.99 ??? Champion !!!! -- I was expecting £15 +

Sadly it's a syndrome that many people seem to suffer, it happens with parts from Skoda dealers, people will invest a lot of time and effort into trying to source a part for what they consider to be a low price without trying to obvious places.

I bought a set of various sizes for use with my socket set for about £15 from Halfords. Since buying them they have been used for a quite a number of other tasks. Deffo a worthy investment.

I wouldn't call £3.99 excessive -

I got one of those.

Went down to Halfords on Saturday morning and got a laser brake caliper. Started on the near side and had a mare of a job loosening the 2 bolts. Anyway, it took about 80 minutes to complete that side and about 25 to do the drivers side (after learning what NOT to do !!)

Cheers to you all for the advice !!!!!

everyday is a schoolday.

At least you've done it now and you have another tool in your collection

have you tried your local motor shop? they often have them in.

I got one of those.
