Hi there

Could someone be good enough to tell me exactly where the relays/control units are situated which control the air con compressor and fans?

My air con suddenly stopped working and after checking the fuses, I initially feared the dreaded compressor going pop, but after running a 12v feed to it the clutch is engaging fine - so either must be the relay or wiring fault.

On the underside of the passenger side chassis rail, close to the gearbox. Follow the cables from the fans.

Found the black box (sealed) with number 1J0 919 506K. My mates Bora has the same unit fitted so gonna try that tomorrow to see if that fixes my problem!

Cool Avatar btw - direct from 1982 'Ford Cars' brochure! I am an old Ford fan too - Had 2 MkV Cortina's a '79 1.6GL and a '82 1.6 Crusader but my all time favourate is Mk1 Granada's - had 5 of those including an Estate and V4 Consul. Would like another but pricey now! Anyway going off topic.....
