It's also f'kin huge and seemed to dwarf an X5 that it was tailgating.

There was one in the visitor's car park at our place last week. The rear lights appear to tower into the sky from the side. Still begs the question, 'why?'

I've thought of ideas such as a coupé pick up cross over like a l200 but lower but with almost the same versitleness:p

following some new x5's on the motorways and there tyres are as wide as my fabia!

I saw one in October 2007 in the south of France - it was a test mule, but poorly disguised I thought. Turns out that is what they were supposed to look like.:(

The X series is for people with more money than sense. Fair play to BMW for robbing them of some of it and making them feel warm and fuzzy about taking on the speed humps and dropped curbs which need a 4x4 to conquer!

Ive not seen on in the metal yet , I thought maybe it would look nicer than in pics....but its worse?....oh dear!

I still really like the 3 door 1 series in White , with the M Sport kit tho , so they can get some things right!!! ......

That's my third and they're all appaling. Really really struggling to believe that they signed it off for production. Just looks hideous. Easily one of the worst looking cars I've seen on the road in a long time, especially from a supposedly 'prestige' manufacturer

Also agree with an earlier statement on the size - it's bloody enormous. Looks to me like the lovechild of a 7-Series and an X5. Never the two prettiest parents!

Someone got scared, in amongst the traffic; so they bought a big Volvo estate:
